Brewed by Bear Republic Brewing Company out of Healdsburg, California, Hop Rod Rye is a potent American IPA made with 20% rye malt. It is a seasonal brew, so enjoy it while you can. I will apply my five-point grading sysytem to this ass-kicking ale.


Appearance: Darker amber in color, Hop Rod has a massive tan head, and a heavy viscosity. 5

Aroma: Huge hop aroma promises untold pleasure, with hints of spice. 5

Flavor/Mouth Feel: Heavy hoppiness, a bit syrupy, accompanied by a slightly sweet, malty finish. Delicious! 5
