P90X gets it right - right from the start. This is advertised as the workout for people serious about working hard to get the results they want. This is no 'get-fit-quick' scheme playing to those who think fitness comes in a pill or by strapping electrodes to their guts.
Tony says, "Bring it," and he means it. And when you do, you'll get results that will make mirrors [and practically all reflective surfaces] your new best friend. This is not easy, but when you do it - you really feel like you've accomplished something amazing. Sure, you'll have to modify in the beginning - there's no way anyone new to P90X can do it all on the first day... you'll be using your body - even if it's a super-fit body - in a new way. As you'll hear on the DVDs: Do your best and forget the rest. So you modify, and then you get better each time until you're bringing it full throttle every second of every 60 minutes.
Tony is engaging, funny, and real - he lets you know when he's pushing it or when he's dogging it.
My favorite DVD is PLYO... talk about kicking your butt. The first time I did the entire 60 minutes without modifying I let out an audible, double-fisted, "Yes!"
I recommend P90X if you are serious about working hard... sweating and breathing and pushing like you never have before. If you want to look good naked - P90X is for you. If not... get some spanx.
