Bath and Body Works Black Amethyst Hand Cream —

One of my co-workers came up with the perfect gift at Christmas, Bath & Body Works Black Amethyst Hand Cream.  It was a very useful gift and smelled great.  Since I was almost out of  my bottle of The Body Shop Cranberry Shimmer Lotion, the timing was perfect!

Bath & Body Works Black Amethyst Hand Cream

Bath & Body Works Black Amethyst Hand Cream comes in a tube that weighs 4 ounces and retails for $12.00.  The tube looks pretty exotic itself being a dark purple with a gold swirl design and some fushia colored flowers on the front.  The packaging reminds me of an exotic scent and that is exactly what you get with Bath & Body Works Black Amethyst Hand Cream.

The scent contains key notes of Italian Bergamot, Rare Camellias, Exotic Sandalwood, Vetiver which all blend to deliver an "exotic" scent of florals mixed with sandalwood.

The formula is also designed to provide moisturization to the skin with advanced blended oils of avocado and almond oil.

My Experience with Black Amethyst Hand Cream

I have to admit that I probably wouldn't have picked out the scent of Black Amethyst while shopping in Bath & Body Works myself.  The scent is pretty strong and I usually shy away from strong and/or heavy scents.  However. I was obligated to use this and I found out that it wasn't near as bad as I expected.

Even thought the scent is strong when you first apply the hand cream, it dies down pretty quickly.  After 30-40 minutes I don't notice the lingering of the "exotic" scent anymore and can go about my usual business without being annoyed.  The other factor that changed my mind on using this product was that it did not give me a headache like some heavy scents do.

The fragrance is different and not one I would normally associate with a hand cream and I guess this is part of the overall appeal to it.  It's different!

I have noticed that it does a fair job of moisturizing my skin.  I have very dry skin, especially in the winter and Bath & Body Works Black Amethyst Hand Cream is trying to keep my skin soft.  I find myself reaching for this hand cream several times during the day and it is certainly better than nothing!

Recommendation

If you enjoy "exotic" scents, then Bath & Body Works Black Amethyst Hand Cream may be the perfect hand cream for you.  If you are on the other hand, sensitive to strong scents, you may want to go try the demo out at Bath & Body Works before purchasing this item.  It is definitely different!  I give Bath & Body Works Black Amethyst Hand Cream 3.5 Stars.

Not at all to me, but I have very dry skin. I have been finding myself continually reaching for lotions and creams in the last few weeks.

Ooh sounds rich and exotic. How does it feel on your hands? Is it greasy?

Sounds nice - I'm glad I don't go by B&B works or The Body Shop often!

My favorite scent lotion @ Bath and Body Works is "Sweet Pea" and my friend got me some shower gel and lotion for Christmas. We have a BBW store in town. I'll have to drop by there and try the demo out. Thanks. =D ~Krista Lynn
