Bath and Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap —

Quick View: I have a quandary. My sons and husband need deep cleansing hand soaps and I love BBW scents. But they think the scents are girly and will only use a couple of them. For me, the deep cleansing formula is drying. So, despite the fact that I love this stuff, we don't get much use out it.

About Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

This hand soap comes in a clear 8 ounce pump container. The many scents include Exotic Coconut, Sun-Ripened Raspberry, Sparkling Peach, Cherry Blossom, and several others. I love those scents. The soap is not creamy. It looks like gel with little gritty bits, presumably to really deep clean the hands. The quandary I have is that, as much as I love the scents, the hand wash is too drying for my hands. I don't really need "deep cleansing" hand soaps as I wash my hands often and rarely do anything that gets my hands dirty. My husband and sons, however, DO need deep cleansing hand soaps but they shudder when they see a bottle of Cherry Blossom hand wash on the sink. They will use a few scents that aren't TOO girly but they would prefer unscented or very bland soaps over fragrant ones. I prefer fragrant gentle soaps. Sigh. Bath & Body Works does sell moisturizing and other types of hand soaps which are better for me but still leave the rest of the family out. At any rate, this hand soap does do what it says. It deeply cleanses the hands and, presumably, is an anti bacterial soap as well. When I use it, my hands are scrubbed and clean and smell yummy (exactly why the men in the house shudder). I rarely use the soap because it is too deep cleansing and drying for my hands and my family will only use it if they have nothing else handy.

My Viewpoint

Jeeze, I had no idea when I bought five scents of this hand cleanser that it would cause us all to end up using it as a last resort. There is nothing wrong at all with this soap but it is drying on the hands which I don't need. It also is fragrant which the guys in my house don't want. It's often on sale for three for $10.00 or even cheaper and I have a stockpile of several that will take some time to use up. Overall, this is an average hand soap because of the issues I outlined. It does smell great and deep cleanses. If you garden or do other work where your hands get really dirty, this soap will tackle the problem and leave your hands smelling great. But keep the hand lotion nearby!

One of my favorite scents from Bath & Body Works was Blissful Blackberry. It was a seasonal scent only brought out in the fall, but they ended up discontinuing it. I was so upset because everyone who used it at my home loved it (including my brother and husband)!
I agree that it does dry your hands out.

I love the kitchen scents that went with this... but I believe they are gone now :( your guys probably would have went for those more than the fruity ones.

I have the same problem. My DH loves the way they look but the only one he will use is the green cucumber one and that's one of the few that I hate the scent of.
