A VERY sweet soap that doesn't strip my hands like the others.

Pros

sweet scent lingers on hands, doesn't dry my skin out, cleans hands well, scent grew on me

Cons
pricier than drugstore hand soaps, may be too sweet smeling for some, not for very dry, sensitive skin, only at BBW

Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap, Winter Candy Apple —

Quick View: I like Bath & Body Works' hand soaps and I recently bought nine different scents and types (I had a great coupon!). One that I bought was Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap, Winter Candy Apple. Normally I'm not a fan of the deep cleansing soaps and go for the moisturizing ones but I didn't see this scent in the moisturizing hand soap area so I bought the deep cleansing one. It is VERY sweet but doesn't seem to dry my hands out like the other deep cleansing soaps from BBW.

My Take on Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap, Winter Candy Apple

I never smelled this scent but I knew candy apples are very sweet. I guess the name intrigued me. Winter Candy Apple. Is there a difference between summer and winter candy apples? I had to know so I bought the hand soap.

When I first tried this eight ounce pump soap, I was overwhelmed with the sweet candy scent. I smelled no apple at all, just the candy coating that the apples are dipped into. It was too sweet smelling for me. However, unlike the other BBW deep cleansing soaps that leave my dry hands even drier, this one doesn't. It seems gentler and it lathers well, rinses well, and leaves a lingering scent of sweetness that has grown on me. It still isn't my favorite scent by any means but it's different and the scent is noticeable when I shake hands with people or just move my hands around.

Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap, Winter Candy Apple is a deep pink, almost red color, with tiny beads in it. I can feel the little beads almost scrubbing my hands but they're gentle. The lather is fine and, when I rinse my hands, they do feel very clean. The scent can assault the senses at first but I think I just grew used to it. I now kind of like it.

My husband and 19 year old son haven't complained about the sweet scent and I totally expected them to. Then again, it's just hand soap. They don't obsess the way I do about scents.

In all, this hand soap is a good one. I like that it doesn't strip my hands yet cleans deep down and the scent is definitely different. I wouldn't want this scent in a body spray or cream but, for my hands, it's just fine.

My Viewpoint

Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap, Winter Candy Apple is usually $4.50. It was on sale for 3/$10.00 and I had a coupon that brought each soap down to around $2.00. For that price, I can't complain. I give the soap 4 stars. It gives my hands a thorough washing, leaves them feeling neuteral (not dry, not hydrated) and the scent is definitely different! If you like the candy on candy apples, you'll like this scent.

VERY sweet but many love it. I prefer a tarter type or something with a lemon or orange scent to a candy scent.

Probably wouldn't be my favorite scent but it sounds like this hand soap has some great qualities. I love that you mentioned the family's reaction, even if there wasn't one, because that is so important too especially with hand soap. Very helpful review Patty!
