I picked up the apple cinnamon scented Sink Scents Stainless Steel Scented Sink Strainer/Stopper by Bath Solutions, Inc. at my local Save-A-Lot store the other day. Whew, try saying that three times fast.
It was on display near the cash registers and was only one dollar. Since I like to try new things and enjoy pleasant scents in my home, I was eager to try it. Also, our current sink strainer was getting rusty so I was only too happy to replace it. Afterall, the most that I would be out was one dollar, right?
I really wish that I could say it was a dollar well spent but alas, it was not. Not only is it barely scented, but it doesn't even work. I'm not very handy, but even I can usually manage to figure out how to work a sink strainer/stopper so that it will either keep the water in the sink or let it drain. This is a sink stopper, not a strainer. It only works in one position, which is to plug up the sink with water.
Currently, my Sink Scents Stainless Steel Scented Sink Strainer/Stopper is tilted on an angle in my sink so that the water will drain. And the apple cinnamon scent? It went out with the garbage in the foil wrapper that it came in.
So even though my sink stopper is tilted in the sink and is barely scented, at least it isn't rusty like my previous one. For one dollar, I really can't complain that much. Still, I had such high hopes.
Not surprising, I do not recommended that you purchase the Sink Scents Stainless Steel Scented Sink Strainer/Stopper unless you have a dollar that you won't miss. Although, you may have better luck if you spend that dollar on a lottery ticket. I wish that I did.
