Bass Pro Shop - Orlando, FL Review

My boys have never liked to shop, but they do like to go to the Bass Pro Shop. It's a huge outdoor retailer with everything you can think of that you might need or want for outdoor work or play. Whether you're looking for swimming suits, grills, kayaks, thermal underwear or general hunting or fishing gear, then they'll fix you up at Bass Pro Shop. I'd call it the Wal-Mart of the hunting/fishing world, but the quality is much higher. They carry the very best brand names in everything including clothing. I got the cutest Columbia jacket there last week. It's lavendar and made of fleece. It's quickly becoming my favorite casual jacket.

During the afternoon, they feed the fish in the huge tank at the Bass Pro Shop at Concord Mills Mall. The fish are always fun, but it's really neat to see them eating. The guy who feeds the fish gives all kinds of information on the fish and tells great stories. Fish feeding time is like a free show. Be sure to ask about fish feeding and get there early, so you can stand close to the huge tank.

Speaking of fun, Bass Pro Shop also has games and a snack bar. The games are outdoor themed and the food is quick stuff. The kids can play and eat while you're shopping if they get tired of looking at all the great outdoor items. Really, they probably won't get tired of looking. There's so much to see.

I consider Bass Pro Shop an outing. It takes about an hour to get there from here, but it's worth the drive. My 12-year-old cousin heard us talking about Bass Pro Shop, and he's wanting to come down to visit just so he can go too. I'm sure he'll be impressed. It's a great place to take guy folks - young and old.

Let me add one tip - When they have a big sale, they get huge crowds. The line was out the door when they had deer corn on sale. I think every hunter this side of the Mississippi must have shown up before the place even opened. That's the only time I've seen it packed in there. I try to avoid deer corn day now.
