In author Sandra Boynton's world, cows play fiddles, pigs twirl, and a wacky assortment of barnyard animals square-dance like pros.  Barnyard Dance is another rollicking good time of a children's board book.

This book is perfect for children up to four years old.  The story doesn't explore any teaching concepts such as opposites, numbers, phonics as some of her other books tackle.   Instead, Barnyard Dance is just a simple, delightful story that strives to do nothing more than entertain its young audience.

For me, the best part of the book is that it is so active.  Animals slide, twirl,...

Sandra Boynton is a winner in my house. Talk about a very funny and cute book. As a mother of five children, this book has been around for all five of them. The story isn't very long so you could take a moment to read while your child is on your lap or getting relaxed for naptime or bedtime.

The rhymes are cute and get you ready to want to dance. Stomping your feet and clapping your hands, come on now, lets get ready for that good old barnyard dance. A wide variety of animals are involved like chickens, ducks, a cow, horse, pig, sheep, bunny and of course the barnyard mice and the barnyard dog....

Barnyard dance is a silly book about well, animals dancing of course. My kids received this book as a gift about 3 1/2 years ago and they still beg me to read it to them all the time. Our copy is a little tattered but it is still a favorite. It's a definate must read for the smaller kids!

Our three year old loves books and enjoys this one tremendously!  There is something about the repetitive nature of the words and how you can imagine the animals square dancing that creates a fun rhythmic story.  The illustrations are fun because each of the animals have cute expressions.  The lyrics (as with all of Sandra Boynton's books) are great: "Stomp your feet, clap your hands! Everybody ready for a Barnyard Dance!" From this opening line on as we read about the dos-e-dos and twirls of each animal: the moos of the cows, the chirps of the birds, and their various dance steps, we all...

Barnyard Dance is a must for children ages one to five. It is such a cute book  and we even count the "chicks" or play "where's the frog".  My little girl dances when we read it together. It rhymes well and is easy to remember so the kids can sing along too. Of all the books we have it is also my favorite. My husband picked it out and I thought it was a little expensive but we have had it for a little over 2 years now and it remains a family favorite, therefore worth the money.  We have bought so many books and none of them have been requested by the kids as much as Barnyard Dance. I highly...

My children are now 13 and 9 years of age, but when they were toddlers, of all the books they had, the, book,BARNYARD DANCEwas the book the kids wanted me to read over and over and over.  It was easy to sing too and the kids like me to put a melody to it when i read it so they could dance to it.  There were other books that went with the barnyard dance and after receiving the barnyard dance book i had to have everyone of them.  And let me tell you my kids loved everyone of them.  When they outgrew them i put them into my yard sales, and believe me they were the first books to go.

Barnyard Dance,

I bought this book for my kids many years ago and they all loved it.

I gave a lot of books away now that the kids have grown somewhat but they would have killed me if I had given this one away. So it's still on one of my selves and everytime a friends comes over with their little ones I take it out and read it to them.

I also give it to friends and family members that have small kids.

I would highly recommend this book.

This is a great book!

My son received it for his 2nd birthday and he wants to read it again and again.  He likes to see the animals dancing on the page and he likes the words the rhyme.  It's an easy read for adults and even enjoyable for adults as well.

It's a very cute book with adorable illustrations but most importantly- MY SON LOVES IT!

Barnyard Dance is our favorite of Sandra Boynton's superb toddler collection.  My daughter's favorite author really shows her sense of childhood magic with this rolling, spinning, dancing and hopping good time.  You can't help but smile as you read through the simple, yet creative rhymes.  A must have for every child's personal collection.

Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton is one of my childrens favorite picks! As her other books do as well, it has a great flow to it, and catchy word phrases that kids can remember and recite.  Fun to read to your kids and to be read by new young readers!

Real cool book for kids I read it to my brandson and he loves it. The author has a real grasp of poetry and rhymes. I think most parents would like it and reccomend it to others. I certainly did.
