A serious book-lover, married to an avid reader, we buy a lot of books in my house. I always check the big sites (Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and occasionally a few others) and purchase our books wherever they are cheapest overall, including shipping, etc. I wait to purchase in a group of $25 or more so I get free shipping. I've been a B&N Member for a few years now. It costs about $30 for a year, and the discounts easily pay for themselves. Don't forget to use your member card not only on books and other items online, but books in the store, gifts and cards in the store, and even in the store cafes!
Also, in response to some of the other reviews--I've never had a problem receiving my books on time, in fact, I usually get them early. May be a Holidays-time problem for some of the reviewers.
