Hi, i agree there are drawbacks but i also think that it is your responsibility to obtain as much info as possible from frends, docs & the web. it really does not make any difference wat surgery, diet etc that you choose if you do not learn to eat properly, exercise & check to see what proper nutrition is necessary. bariatric surgery is not right for everyone but in my case i do not beleive i would have been able to lose 175lbs on my own. this has also given me the opportunity to have a great support in my bariatric center. these are all licensed rn & nutritionalist who help you. there are a lot of people pushing colon cleansers, diet programs & fat disolving products who have no education in this field at all or maybe very small classes who are there to make you think that the key to weightloss is buying their product. you can lose hair, bone density or become malnourished on a lot of weightlos plans from buy their fod programs t bariatric surgery. i guess the bottomline is once you start to lose the weight, learn how to eat & exercise properly.
