A few weeks ago I was wandering around Sephora with my mom who was shopping for some specific items. I didn't need a darn thing but couldn't resist the temptation to buy something. For a while now I've been looking into ways to get my eye makeup to stay put from morning til night without much luck so I looked around the store for an eyelid primer product and settled on Bare Escentuals' Prime Time Eyelid Primer.
I have had lots of bad luck with cosmetics so I was apprehensive at first to spend $16 on a tiny tube of primer not knowing if it would be a good product or not. But knowing that Sephora has an excellent return policy I tried it anyway.
The primer comes out of a small hole in the top of the tube. I think you can rub the tube right onto your eyelids but I prefer to dispense a very small amount onto my middle finger and apply it gently to both eyelids. I let it set and dry while blowing my hair dry and by the time I'm done with that I'm ready to apply my eye makeup. My makeup looks a hundred times better now that I use this product. I don't know how it works, but my eyeshadow colors look great and I have to use less of it than before I started using primer. My eye liner also seems to glide across my lids better and create a more precise line.
What's most amazing though is the staying power of my eye makeup since I've started using primer. I apply my makeup at about 7am on work days and it looks freshly applied all day long. Seriously. When it's time to wash my face at night I almost don't want to as my makeup looks perfect still. In fact, when I do wash my face, I have to use an eye makeup remover because if I just use soap or cleanser my eye makeup is still nearly perfect even after washing! It's absolutely incredible!
Although Bare Escentuals' Prime Time Eyelid Primer is fairly expensive I will definitely buy it again as it allows me to use less makeup and spend less time doing touch ups. I'm so glad I tried it!
