Bare Escentuals Well Cared for Conditioning Shampoo for Makeup Brushes is my go to make up brush cleaner. One of the best facets of this make up brush cleaner is you do not need to use a lot in order to clean the make up brushes it really only takes about a dime size amount of the conditioning shampoo to get the job done. I begin my cleaning process by running the water in the sink and waiting for it to get warm and then I wet my makeup brushes and then I apply about a dime size amount of the conditioning shampoo to the brushes and massage the shampoo into my makeup brushes so it is well distributed and then I wash the brushes under the water until they are completely clean and free of excess makeup. I lay them out on a washcloth so they can dry into the shape they originally were in. My brushes feel so clean once they are dry and I only have to do this cleaning process about every month or so. This product cleans any makeup brush thoroughly and quickly and other consumers could really get a great bang for their buck by purchasing this conditioning shampoo.

Oh my goodness I cannot express how much I hate this product! It ruined my very expensive brushes that I purchased from the bare-minerals company. I applied it per the instructions on the bottle and rinsed it and let it dry on a flat surface (completely like it read on the bottle). I thought it was weird that it took the brush 2 days to dry but I allowed it to run its course as it said to not to use the brushes until they were completely dry. On the third day when it was finally dry I attempted to apply my bare minerals powder foundation with the brush but it did not work and just clumped up on my face so I looked at the brush to see what the problem was. It turns out that shampoo had left my brushes' hair clumped up and crusty and rendered them unusable. I'm so disappointed because now I have to replace most of my brushes even though this product was made by the same company for them! Do not use this product.

Bare Escentuals Well Cared For Conditioning Shampoo is the only thing that I will use on my makeup brushes.  I have a collection of several brushes, mainly from Bare Escentuals, but also a few from other brands and I use this brush shampoo on all of them.  It is gentle and leaves the brush feeling very soft, but it is strong enough to really get all of the left-over makeup off and leave the brushes feeling very clean and fresh.  I don't have a lot of bristle loss and my brushes keep their shape well.  I don't know how much of this is because of the brushes themselves and how much is because of the shampoo, but I am very happy with it.  I was concerned that the size of the bottle was a little small for the price, but it has actually lasted for a long time because I don't need to use much product to get my brushes clean.  I would recommend this to anyone who wants to protect their brushes and keep them clean.

The brushes used to apply Bare Minerals make-up are expensive. Also, one brush can be used to apply more than one component of the make-up (the foundations as well as Mineral Veil, Warmth, etc.). They build up with the different mineral powders over time and it can affect the application of Bare Minerals make-up. I got the Bare Minerals Starter Kit from the TV commercial, but I didn't even think about cleaning the brushes until a saleswoman told me about it at the storefront in the mall. Bare Escentuals makes a brush cleaner and conditioner call Well-Cared For. It's a mild shampoo that comes in a four ounce bottle. When you buy it, it seems a little pricey, but compared to replacing the brushes, it's not that bad. Once a month, I use Bare Escentuals Well-Cared For cleaner on my make-up brushes. I apply a good amount (how much depends on which brush you are cleaning), rub it in, and rinse with warm water until it runs clear. Reshape the brushes and dry them on a paper towel. At first, I was a little nervous about cleaning my make-up brushes like this. I had never owned make-up brushes expensive enough to require cleaning before. I was afraid the bristles would end up in stiff clumps, or even worse - start falling out. I did lose a few bristles - a very few. Even after reshaping, when they were totally dry, they looked clumped up. All I did was run the brush through my fingers and it was just like new! The application of the Bare Minerals make-up is much smoother the cleaner the brushes are. Make sure the brushes are 100% dry before applying any make-up. I use the Well-Cared For brush cleaner about every three weeks. You'd be surprised at how muddy the water looks when you first run your brush through. This brush cleaner and conditioner not only works well for Bare Minerals make-up brushes, but I have prolonged the life of other, cheaper make-up brushes. If you own the Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals make-up, Well-Cared For is a must have. If you are looking for a brush cleaner for other cosmetic brushes, this is a stand-out product as well.
