Bare Escentuals Starter Kit — 

I cannot state enough how I hate this make-up. Seriously. Its so horribly bad.

I have sensitive, combination skin prone to redness and acne. My mother gave me this sample kit of Bare Minerals for Christmas. I watched the DVD, and did exactly what I was told. Eh, it looked okay. Whatever.

That night, I washed my face 3 times to get all of it off. It took that many times just to get to bare skin. After using my regular moisturizer, I went to bed.

The next morning...redness, puffiness, dry scaly patchs...and several cystic zits lurking under the surface. WTF?!

So I did some research. For all it's "you can sleep in it, it's so pure!" marketing, if you're a person that happens to be allergic to bismuth oxycloride, you're screwed. It took my skin weeks to sort itself out.

I will never again touch this stuff and I warn everyone that mentions it about my experience.

No, they weren't. I've never had cystic acne in my life; these were the first ones.

Those cystic zits were already in the making. I too get them. They will not develop overnight from using this or any makeup. They come from dead skin cells and sebacious oils. My dermatologist recommends coming in for a cortisone injection for them, they go away in 1-2 days. NEVER have I had a problem with Bare Minerals doing anything to me. I sleep in it all the time. All the ingredients ARE pure, they all come from the Earth, even bismuth oxychloride!There isn't any false advertising. I highly doubt it is the first time you came across that ingredient. ALL makeup contains it. I'm sure you're one of those critical people anyway. NOTHING ever is up to your standards!!
