I am a Bare Escentuals cult member. A few years ago I bought the starter kit and have been using it ever since. I have tried other mineral make-ups but have been very disappointed each time. So, when the Buxom Lips lip gloss came out I thought I'd give it a try.

I did not have any real expectations and I wasn't really interested in looking like Angelina Jolie but I was curious as to what the hype was all about. I placed my order and waited for it to arrive. Upon opening the package I was impressed with the style of the container. The rose color I had chosen looked good and so the adventure with the lip gloss began.

Now, after some time I am ready to write my review.

The Good News: I must say this has been the hardest product for me to rate. On the one hand, I love the color. It is rich and stays true. The gloss lasts well but must be applied regularly through the day. It feels great and is not sticky like some gloss products.

The Not So Good News: When the gloss is first applied it has a tingling sensation. I find it enjoyable but I have never felt it was actually doing anything other than tingling. If I had wanted plumper lips I would have been extremely disappointed. Since that wasn't in my original list of expectations it isn't a big deal for me.
The part that is a big deal though is that the container is poorly made. When you spend $18 on a lip gloss you expect it to hold up in your purse, in the suitcase, on the dresser, etc. Of the three containers I own two have had their tops separate from the the inner part that screws into the vial. This is most annoying to say the least as it makes it very difficult to screw off the applicator without getting messy. For that reason I have rated it below average.

It breaks my heart to rate the product as low as I did but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do.
