Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals Foundation —
Of all people, my mother-in-law got me into wearing this make-up, and I will never go back to liquid. I have also tried other mineral foundations, a few drugstore brands in particular, and none can hold a candle to this one. Expensive, some say, but not when one considers that the $30 one spends (even cheaper on ebay) is going for a foundation that will last almost all year!This is a little tricky to apply at first, but once you get the hang of the swirling motion you should use with your brush it's a breeze. My skin tone is a bit uneven and this cleans that right up for me. I love putting it on in the mornings then seeing the instant difference it makes before I apply my other make-up. It is literally like someone airbrushed the imperfections off my face. Definitely something to get excited about.
I will say this about it, and this does not affect my review in any way because it is not a problem for me...I am only very rarely troubled by a pimple, as I see a dermatologist and she helps keep all that under control for me. At one of the rare times when I do see a red spot rear its head, I don't feel that this make-up does a great job covering it. I know that the "official" company reviews say that it is effective at concealing acne, but in my opinion, it is just like many other make-up in that it doesn't offer enough coverage to hide that sort of redness, and if your pimple is in that crusty yucky stage, the makeup will tend to cake around it a bit. It also seems to cake around concealer if you try to apply that to the pimple. I think this is a make-up meant for people with skin imperfections that aren't very severe, like uneven skin tone or light freckles. I'm definitely not knocking it, because it's working for me, but wanted to share what I knew about how it works for me when I do have a bit of acne going on.
