Bare Escentuals BareMinerals Refillable Buffing Brush with Mineral Veil is the newest version from Bare MInerals. The original brush, as read in other reviews, isn't that great.

This brush is a shiny new pinkish red color, supposedly limited edition, and comes prefilled with original mineral veil. I must admit, I was hesitant to buy this one because of the problems I had with the original black one. But, I went to Sephora and tried it out before buying. The powder comes out of the brush head much better and in a greater quantity than the original.

Like the original, this brush comes with the clear jar that screws into the bottom of the brush. It is already filled with original Mineral Veil. After twisting the bottom 'open' or a little past open, turn the brush upside down and  give it a few good shakes and/or taps on your hand until you see powder on the tips of the brush. You can then apply it to your face, or turn the brush to the 'buff' position which brings the brush head down to a more compact, less fluffy shape and you can buff in the mineral veil. I use mine completely open and full, it's softer and feels better when applying the mineral veil.

Some have complained of the mineral veil leaking out of the bottom of the brush and making a mess, but I have not had this problem. My brush is tossed in the bottom of my purse and there's no mess. I have heard that if your brush leaks, it is too full of product - which may be helpful to know if/when you refill it with your product of choice when the mineral veil is gone.

Speaking of refilling with another product, the mineral veil is finer than foundation which may play a factor when using something different. With the original black brush, I found that the foundation did not flow through the brush at all, but with the new one and mineral veil I have had no problems. I cannot comment on if regular foundation will flow through this new brush or not.

I am happy with the new brush with mineral veil. It it helpful during a midday shine fest, when my face looks like I greased it up, I just pull out my mineral veil brush, swipe it on and I'm good to go again.
