I've recently closed my account with Bank of America because of their very poor customer service. With the economy the way it is I completely understand that banks are going through a hard time, but even more important to keep the customers you have happy...right? Wrong...very wrong. I've had problems in the past with Bank of America, but never really that big, on going, but never really that big...until recently. I'll make it short and simple.
It all started when my husband went on a trip to another state and needed to rent a car from Enterprise (which is a whole other story). Anyway, Enterprise ended up taking out the incorrect amount from my bank account which severely overdrew my account. Now, I am a very strict "budget" kind of person. I budget everything. So when my husband went on this trip, I put a specific amount into my checking account to go along with his expenses. Enterprise ended up correcting the mistake, but by this point it was to late, Bank of America ended up charging us $275.00 in over-draft fees. The problem occurred when we tried talking to customer service over and over again and explained the problem. That this wasn't our fault, it was like somebody stealing money from us, we would get the money back then, but they didn't want to hear it. They ended up only giving us about $75 back and that was it. I was so angry, I said "screw it" and I closed my account. Again, I know banks are going through hard times, but when banks start to steal money from their own customers, that's wear I draw the line.
So do not open and account with these guys and if you have one, CLOSE it quickly!
