Stay away from Bank of America

I have had my Bank of America credit card for several years. I don't think they give enough points in the rewards program for the amount of money spent. I have been happy with the speed of service when I order a reward in the past few months. The main reason I am not happy with my credit card is that I paid it a few days after the due date one time, and they refused to remove the late fee. I spent several minutes on the phone with customer service, and she refused to even listen to me. I would have to say she was rude. I am planning to switch to a different card soon. Customer Service The poor customer service is the main reason I gave this card a 1 in the overall rating. If you want to have a credit card with a company that offers caring and friendly customer service, Bank of America is not the credit card company for you. Available Rates After being late on my payment one time, they raised my interest rate. The rate is too high now.

Good but not great

I would rate this as great except that their customer service is very poor. The card itself and the cash back deals are really good. 3% gas 2% groceries 1% everything else. What's not to like. But I lost my card and when I called customer service they told me they would send me another one but it would take 10 days to get to me. I explained I needed it sooner than that and they said they could send it Fed Ex for $20 or $25. I explained I couldn't afford that fee but that I used this card exclusively and really needed it. The agent wouldn't budge. I pointed out that there were lots of cards out there and he basically said do what you've got to do. So I did and went to Capital One which is amazing. Customer Service They refused to send me a replacement card expedited without charging me a large fee despite my using their card exclusively and pointing out I could use a different card easily. I decided to use a different card. Available Rates I don't know about rates. I don't carry a balance.

Worst credit card ever? Quite possible!

You would think that having a "platinum" card would be great right? Top tier performance and service. You could not be more wrong! The Bank of America WorldPoints Platinum Plus MasterCard is quite possibly one of the worst cards I have ever hard. Problem #1 - Aggressive fraud protection - this card gets declined at half the places I go for "unusual spending." How is going to the grocery store or gas station within a 2 mile radius "unusual?" Calling customer service to get the card un-declined takes so long that I usually just end up using my debit card. Problem #2 - Customer service - complete lack there of. First, it takes about 1/2 hour to get anyone from BofA on the line. Then they read you a script word-for-word, don't listen to your questions, and stick you on hold for another 1/2 hour until they can track own a "supervisor" ... who also can't solve your problem, and will kick you up yet another notch (another 1/2 hour) who MIGHT be able to help you. Problem #3 - Misleading rewards program. While you accumulate points quickly, the process of redeeming them is bizarre, and the advertised points redemption on their site never seems to go through when you want to redeem your points. I would avoid this card, there are many other platinum cards out there, and many by Mastercard, that treat their clients much better!

Tired of blocked purchases

Bank of America credit cards may seem convenient if B of A is your bank, but the program that they use to determine fraud is too stringent. My card has been blocked at the grocery store, hardware store, gas station, and online. When speaking with customer service, the reason is always 'that is unusual spending' or we need to verify the purchase with you. Unfortunately, they do not call to verify any purchases. After having been blocked over 20 times, I have NEVER received a phone call asking for verification. The purchase is just declined. This is my primary credit card, but I began using AMEX a few years ago and they text me when they think a purchase is unusual (but they have never blocked any). I am very frustrated about Bank of America's credit cards. I will rely on another bank to provide my credit needs. Customer Service Customer service reps seem to have a script that they follow, but have little real knowledge to address customer problems. Available Rates Rates are supposed to be based on your credit score, but the bank seems to raise them willy nilly.

they are very safe about internet access but it is easy to use and find answers to questions online.  If you do need to call the customer service center it is also easy to talk to a real person and get immediate service and safisfaction to any questions and or problems.  I have been very happy with them for some time.  They do offer a $10 reward for every 1000 dollars but that is only to one store.  It would be great if it was a cash back card but other than that there is not one thing i would change about the way this company handles their business.

Fraud protection, earn points

Even though I am not a fan of Bank of America taking over the world, this credit card has been good to me.  I was alerted when fradulent activity was noticed on my account, and it took virtually no time for them to handle the situtation.  Viewing and paying bills online is a very nice feature, and Bank of America also has a paperless bill option so you receive your bills by e-mail.  And of course, every dollar spent is one WorldPoint that can be used for travel, hotel stays, and more.

Horrible!

About 4 years ago, I got this card through Ebay at an excellent 5.9% interest rate. I used it ALOT! But then last year, & without warning or reasoning of any kind, they sent me a letter saying that they were raising the interest rate to nearly 18%! That's nearly quadruple the original rate! Can you say RIP OFF!! And here's the kicker...I needed to accept or decline the new rate...accepting meant that future purchases would be charged the higher rate & current balance would stay at 5.9%. Declining meant that the current balance would stay under the 5.9% as long as I didn't make any future purchases & if I did...wait for it...those purchases AND the current balance would be charged under the 18%! Well, I decided to decline...I cut up the card & am only making payments on it until it's paid off. I'll never do business with them again.

Don't do business with Bank of America!!!

Bank of America is not a good bank to do business with.  From their WorldPoints Platinum Plus Mastercard to their checking and savings accounts.  They pull you in with their 0% offers, but once you are in the  good customer service stops there.  When you email their customer service or do an online chat; they respond with prewritten responses so 9 times out of 10 it doesn't completely answer your question. When you request a credit limit increase; they may reduce your limit.  It doesn't matter how good a customer you are or how long you  been with them.  I know this from experience.  I requested a credit line increase and they reduced my limit by about $5000.  When I emailed them about this; they just sent me an empty apology for the inconvenience.  Then to make matters worse; they sent me a set of checks about 2 weeks after they reduced my limit and they listed my credit limit at what my limit was before they reduced it.    Bank of America is not a reliable bank to do business with.  I would not trust them with my money and I definitely would not trust using any of their credit cards.   The one I have I will be getting rid of very soon.  I prefer to do business with people I can trust and Bank of America is not one of them.

Great Rewards and Cashback program!

I really love this card. I have had amazing customer service with Bank of America. I've never been charged for something that I haven't been informed about and whenever I want to inquire about something, I just use the livechat function after I log in to my account. The rewards and points are easily attainable unlike some other programs. I am first year out of college, have used this card for about a year and a half now and have already claimed around $500 cashback. I shop online a lot and most sites I go to give me bonus points on my purchases - including Saks, Ralph Lauren, Bloomingdales, orbitz..

Great Card with easy online access and great rewards program

I first got the Bank of America WorldPoints Platinum Mastercard as a simply emergency card for those moments when the unexpected happens.  But, after using it for some everyday occurances; I was so surprised with the the points awarded that I just kept on using it for my everyday purchases.  Also, the online account access is so easy to navigate.  Paying my credit card bill online and checking my balances has never been so easy.  I would recommend this card to anyone looking for a company that really cares about it's customers.
