BOA offered me a great credit card with a great rate. After having the card for over one year and paying additional not just the minimum due i get a notice that says your rate now is going to 24.99%....how is that possible when every payment is on time, more than the minimum and i have not even used...

i got a BOA visa card with a $700 limit in october of 2007 and quickly maxxed it out (i was 18 and an idiot). i spent the next year and a half making whatever i could afford in payments, making a few late ones when i was unemployed for a couple of months, then found a new, relatively steady part-time job and have not missed or been late on a  payment since. in fact, my minimum payments are $15 and i have managed several $50 payments recently.

finally, when i had it payed down to just below $200, i decided it was safe to use my card again. my hours at work had just been cut from 5 days a week...

Due to the two credit cards that my wife and I have reaching their maximum, we thought it would be a good idea to try and qualify for a new credit card with a low APR to transfer our balances to. We received a pre-approved credit card application in the mail from Bank of America with a 0% up to a 2.99% APR. We thought this was great until we read all the fine print. I called them to apply over the phone. This was a tedious and frustrating process. I had a very difficult time simply trying to understand the very thick accent of the customer service representative. Turns out he was in the Philippines....

Generally speaking on the use to a Visa credit card offered by BOA. I recently received a phone call from one of the customer service agent with BOA. She inquired about my use of my current Visa with BOA. I  informed her that yes I have the card, but in lue of using it I was not making any purchaseses at this time. She therefore stated that it would be better to cancelled the card. People, listen to me when I say never feel pressured by your bank institution when it come down to your credit. Informed them up front, that the card is applied for in my name, that if I needed to renew the card...

I paid my my bill every month, however I was continual charged late fee and my interest rate increased to an unreasonable percentage.  I was able to get the late fees removed, but not able to get the interest rate changed back.  The only way I would be able to change the interest rate was to sign up for their debt program.

Upon explaining I did not require the debt program i was told they would not able to help me.  In fact I believe my account was paid ahead as I paid more than the min payment every month.  On a specific month the billing cycle ended on the 21 day of the month, and the payment...

My Bank of America Credit card "Visa" was my second credit card that I apply for.  Even though i don't have any checking account at Bank Of America I love the rate that they give me for my credit card.  When other Institutions was giving me a interest rate of at least 20.99% and for a lower credit limit; BOA not only offer me a lower interest rate bu also gave a higer credit limit. I was really surprised to see the offer in my mail box.  Also, Bank of America only chargers twenty nine dollars for late fee while other Banks charges thirty nine dollars.  Even though this credit card doesn't give...

I opened a visa at ban of america a little over two years ago and got a semi decent annual percentage rate as my credit was not too outstanding. Everything was fine, until this last month when i received a letter stating they were going to increase my annual percetange rate to almost double what it was. They did not give any reasoning nor much time to reject the terms. I have never missed a payment.

I do not understand how now in times of financial crisis for consumers a major bank that i have banked with for 20 years make my ability to pay my credit card bill more difficult. My monthly minumum...

Bank of America credit card program is not customer friendly. If you are in financial difficutly they will not help you.  They would rather sue you in court than work with you to set up a payment plan.

I sent a formal business letter to Bank of America saying that I was having financial difficulty in meeting my monthly payments.  I asked that instead of trying to call me on my phone that they correspond with me via mail.

The second part of the letter proposed a payment plan that I could financially meat that would eventually enable me to pay off all of my debt.

I got a reply stating that...

yeah, they have tried to raise my rates on me twice from 10% to 29%, when i've never been late with a payment. my furnace went out, and my student loans came out of grace period, so all the sudden my ratios tilted a bit, and first thing they want to do is triple my interest rate. yeah, that's a real fast way to drive someone into bankruptcy. it's no wonder your bank isn't doing so well.

I am thankful that I don't carry a large balance on this credit card.  About a year ago the bank increased the interest rate by 10% and recently they increased it by another 10%.  It's no wonder they could suddenly report a profit.

Bank of America Visa card is a rip off.  I have been paying my credit card on time for many years and all of the sudden they change their policy and increases my APR.  Your credit history and on time payments do not help. Do not even bother with this card.

I got this card right out of college to help build my credit. 4 years later I still have a 0% interest rate, although I don't carry a balance. I earn 3% back on my gas purchases, and receive a $50 check for points earned about once a year.

After getting bit in the "you know what" I will NEVER suggest anything from Bank of America!  Why pad the CEO's pocket?  I am starting to believe all credit card companies are nothing but scams!
