We both had Bank of America Visa debit cards. While these were very convenient, we quickly realized that certain purchases would be held 2 or more times on our accounts. When this happened, we would be charged an overdraft fee (or several) if the multiple holds caused our accounts to overdraw. We were very careful to be sure to keep enough money in our accounts for our purchases, bills, et cetera, but that didn't help.
