I have been a card member for many years with Bank of America. I am pretty all all over it and very rarely have I ever been late with any payment of any type.  In more than 5 years I had never made a late payment to Bank of America either.  Turns out the date for my Bank of America account fell on...

I have what they call the Royal Caribbean Platinum Plus issued thru MBNA 3 years ago. The only perk is On Board Credits on every cruise for the points you earn. $50 for every 5000 points. Any purchases from Royal Caribbeans (deposit on a cruise, final payment on a cruise, onboard charges while on a cruise, any purchases from their web site) get double points. Basically it is 1% cashback.

Very happy with the card til I bought a clothes dryer & learned that there is no additional year warranty issued with the card. In fact hardly any perks besides the OBC.

Then April of 2007 the owner, Al Lerner,who...

Some of you may know that I spent over a quarter century working for some very, very, large banks.  But my experience had little to do with consumer banking.  I was much more at home in the area of International Financial Witchcraft.  I admit it.  I was very, very, good at it.  And, if I was still there today, you might in fact have gotten the opportunity to see me in a "perp walk" on CNN or MSNBC.  Hey!  But you all know I'm a changed man.  Hell!  These days I'm even Green, albeit Conveniently GreenBut that's a subject for a different review.  We're here today to take a look at

When Bank Of America purchased MBNA, everything changed for the worst. Suddenly I had 2 Bank Of America cards. Although I pay my cards on time, always pay more than the minimum payments, also make an extra payment each month, and had been an MBNA customer for 10 years, my rate was increased within 3 months when BOA took over.  Although the cards are in my name only, when my husband passed away, BOA determined I was now a high risk with too much credit available, and raised my rates from 7.5% to 21.9%. When I claimed "FOUL", and "DISCRIMINATION".the rude customer service person who barely spoke... read full review »

I had been using Bank of America Services for Checking, Investments, Deposit Box, financed a new vehicle, Credit Cards and two (2) Mortgages for about 30 years.  I never exceeded my lines of credit, over spent on my cards, nor missed a mortgage paymentl  My credit score (middle one) is 750 which is, per the Credit Bureau's,  excellent.  I received last week a letter from the said Bank that my interest rate was changing.  I was being charged 5.2% FIXED on my Platinum Visa  Card.  Now they were advising my rate was going to an ARM, which meant 5.25% PLUS 6.50% for a total of 11.75%! ...

Now a days is so easy to be in a lot of debt due to our economic situation. When the banks know that you are hurting for money, they really want to fish you in by giving you a credit card with a few months zero interest free. However you should be cautions of this practice because after your grace period is over, they really increase the interest rate sky rocket. Bank of America is one of this banks that don't really care about the customers. They don't care if they ruin your credit history/score. I have been a customer with Bank of America for about twenty years. I never have been late with payments...

My entire family had credit cards through Bank of America and each one of us have had random charges billed to our cards.  They have lowered the limit and added over limit fees to the cards, allowed unauthorized charges to be billed continually and will not stop payment.  I had to cancel the card to get the charges to stop billing, they would not help.  Every month I am finding random charges on this account and have to call to investigate.  They have affected my credit - which was excellent - and my daughters have all had their credit affected by BOA due to random charges and poor customer...

I received a Bank of America Platinum Visa about 6 years ago. It came with a very impressive interest rate of 0% for 12 months on balance transfers and a 8.9% fixed rate for purchases and after the promotion expired. I transfered a balance and used the card for all my purchases since it was such a low rate. I tried to pay more than the minimum payment each month. Once the promotion expired they increased the interest rate to 21.9%. I had never been late with a payment on this card nor any other card and had never gone over the limit. It seems credit cards lure you in with these great low rates...

I have had Bank of America credi cards and after the bank saved itself by taking taxpayer TARP money from the government they proceeded to contract their consumer credit lines and raised the rates on all of the financial instuments issued to there customers. The rates on the credit cards were raised from (9.0% up to 25%) you had to option of opting out which is to say canceling your line of credit with them. This is when they could have been lending for lower rated since the fed funds was lowered to 0.25%  It's a sad state of affairs when the banks can no longer be trusted any longer. As for...

I can't say enough bad things about Bank of America. I had a credit card from them for many years. One day, I see items being charged to the card that I did not authorize. I had my card at home and had not used it for for quite some time. I found the card and called the company. They said the card was stolen and removed the charges I did not authorize. Sounds good, right? Wrong - The next month they cancel my card saying my credit wasn't up to their standards and they rasied my fees to 27.99%.

I had never missed a payment and I never reported anything prior to the incident metioned above. I am...

The Bank of America Student Platinum Plus  Visa Credit Card is a basic no-frills credit card that will appeal to the part-time or full-time college student who is just looking for a basic credit card to start building their credit history. To apply for this card, you need to be either a part-time or full-time college student attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year college. I have been a user of my MBNA card for over 10 year.   As everyone knows they have been taken over by BOA.   I had 9.99% rate and because I decided to use it and carry a balance when times got tight, they decided once I carried a balance to push my rate to 19.99%.   I have never been late ever.....  they just like to get you when you are down.   Plus, they won't even let you know how the made the decision to adjust or change your terms because they do it in-house they can't disclose it to you.

I am not one to review things negatively unless it was really unjust.   And that is the case...

I am deeply disapointed in the Bank of America credit Card. After numerous phone calls and letters that offered "too good to be true" loans and lines of credit, I decided to open a line of credit just in case I am in need of funds. I called, spoke to a representative that confirmed what I already had in writing, namely that the Interest rate on the line of credit will be %8.9. I completed the application. A few days later I received the paper work from Bank Of America and in very fine print listed the Interest rate of $18.9. I called to inquire about the discrepency and was informed that the day...

So I have had a banking relationship with Bank Of America for more than 15 yrs. When I decided I was going to consolidate my accounts together and close my non BofA credit cards and move them to BofA I figured it would be an easy move. WRONG. They had me go through a credit analyst to move a $9000 balance to one of my empty BofA credit cards. I make NET $300k a year yet they said that I was a risk? My credit score is above 750. So when I called them up and talked to the analyst they were very rude and condescending. When I started to question their criteria I was told that perhaps they needed... read full review »
