Most HelpfulI have been a card member for many years with Bank of America. I am pretty all all over it and very rarely have I ever been late with any payment of any type. In more than 5 years I had never made a late payment to Bank of America either. Turns out the date for my Bank of America account fell on...

I have what they call the Royal Caribbean Platinum Plus issued thru MBNA 3 years ago. The only perk is On Board Credits on every cruise for the points you earn. $50 for every 5000 points. Any purchases from Royal Caribbeans (deposit on a cruise, final payment on a cruise, onboard charges while on a cruise, any purchases from their web site) get double points. Basically it is 1% cashback.
Very happy with the card til I bought a clothes dryer & learned that there is no additional year warranty issued with the card. In fact hardly any perks besides the OBC.
Then April of 2007 the owner, Al Lerner,who...
Some of you may know that I spent over a quarter century working for some very, very, large banks. But my experience had little to do with consumer banking. I was much more at home in the area of International Financial Witchcraft. I admit it. I was very, very, good at it. And, if I was still there today, you might in fact have gotten the opportunity to see me in a "perp walk" on CNN or MSNBC. Hey! But you all know I'm a changed man. Hell! These days I'm even Green, albeit Conveniently Green. But that's a subject for a different review. We're here today to take a look at
I had been using Bank of America Services for Checking, Investments, Deposit Box, financed a new vehicle, Credit Cards and two (2) Mortgages for about 30 years. I never exceeded my lines of credit, over spent on my cards, nor missed a mortgage paymentl My credit score (middle one) is 750 which is, per the Credit Bureau's, excellent. I received last week a letter from the said Bank that my interest rate was changing. I was being charged 5.2% FIXED on my Platinum Visa Card. Now they were advising my rate was going to an ARM, which meant 5.25% PLUS 6.50% for a total of 11.75%! ...
review »Now a days is so easy to be in a lot of debt due to our economic situation. When the banks know that you are hurting for money, they really want to fish you in by giving you a credit card with a few months zero interest free. However you should be cautions of this practice because after your grace period is over, they really increase the interest rate sky rocket. Bank of America is one of this banks that don't really care about the customers. They don't care if they ruin your credit history/score. I have been a customer with Bank of America for about twenty years. I never have been late with payments...
review »I received a Bank of America Platinum Visa about 6 years ago. It came with a very impressive interest rate of 0% for 12 months on balance transfers and a 8.9% fixed rate for purchases and after the promotion expired. I transfered a balance and used the card for all my purchases since it was such a low rate. I tried to pay more than the minimum payment each month. Once the promotion expired they increased the interest rate to 21.9%. I had never been late with a payment on this card nor any other card and had never gone over the limit. It seems credit cards lure you in with these great low rates...
review »I can't say enough bad things about Bank of America. I had a credit card from them for many years. One day, I see items being charged to the card that I did not authorize. I had my card at home and had not used it for for quite some time. I found the card and called the company. They said the card was stolen and removed the charges I did not authorize. Sounds good, right? Wrong - The next month they cancel my card saying my credit wasn't up to their standards and they rasied my fees to 27.99%.
I had never missed a payment and I never reported anything prior to the incident metioned above. I am...
review »The Bank of America Student Platinum Plus Visa Credit Card is a basic no-frills credit card that will appeal to the part-time or full-time college student who is just looking for a basic credit card to start building their credit history. You need a minimum income of $200 in monthly income after rent, tuition, utility, and food expenses are paid. No cosigner is needed. The Bank of America Student Platinum Plus Visa Credit Card is a pretty basic student credit...
review »I have been a user of my MBNA card for over 10 year. As everyone knows they have been taken over by BOA. I had 9.99% rate and because I decided to use it and carry a balance when times got tight, they decided once I carried a balance to push my rate to 19.99%. I have never been late ever..... they just like to get you when you are down. Plus, they won't even let you know how the made the decision to adjust or change your terms because they do it in-house they can't disclose it to you.
I am not one to review things negatively unless it was really unjust. And that is the case...
review »I am deeply disapointed in the Bank of America credit Card. After numerous phone calls and letters that offered "too good to be true" loans and lines of credit, I decided to open a line of credit just in case I am in need of funds. I called, spoke to a representative that confirmed what I already had in writing, namely that the Interest rate on the line of credit will be %8.9. I completed the application. A few days later I received the paper work from Bank Of America and in very fine print listed the Interest rate of $18.9. I called to inquire about the discrepency and was informed that the day...
review »I first received this card to 'TRANSFER A BALANCE FROM A HIGHER INTEREST CARD'. However, a couple of months before the introductory rate expired, I received a letter from Bank of America that my interest rate will go from not zero to 9.99%, but from zero to 19.99%. This was a huge hit on a more than five figure balance. In fact, it was almost an extra $150 per month in interest alone.
This card was taken out to save money on a 10.99% card. As it turned out, it cost me quite a bit more. As for as I am concerned, once I get my credit cards paid off, I will never do business with this...
