I tried Banana Boat sunscreens in the SPF 15 and the SPF 30. The 15 is nowhere near enough protection for anything and the 30 still left me with blisters and redness. The SPF 50 is probably where the best protection starts for me. If I can find higher I will but this does a great job for me as long as I remember to reapply. My boyfriend picked this up for us on our way to a local Princeton Rays baseball game. We grabbed a bottle up at drugstore and he picked it out because I told him to be sure to get something 50 or above. We argue constantly on the effectiveness of higher SPF sunscreen but I think he's coming around to see that 50 is better than 30. The sunscreen comes out white like many others do. It goes on smooth and it's very cool to the touch. It's actually kind of cold on contact, even after the bottle has been out in the sun for a while. This bottle also has one of my favorite designs. I like the upside down bottle because I can get more product out of it. I also like that it's #2 plastic which I can recycle. Anyway, that aside, this provides the perfect amount of SPF protection for outdoor events without me or my guy having to constantly reapply. The baseball games usually last anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on how the games go. I can apply block to both of our faces and arms for added protection and at the end of the game. I rarely ever have any burns. I do get some sun though. The high SPF protects me from blistering and redness but it still allows enough sun rays through to allow me to tan somewhat. I have to be careful getting this around my eyes. My lids need protection just like everywhere else but it's hard to apply the thick lotion around the eyes and mouth without getting it in them. I usually put the product in my hands, rub it out, and then apply to my face just to be safe. This sunblock lasts through sweat and hours of baseball games. I have to say that the SPF 50 really does the trick. Scent It actually doesn't have much of a scent. Absorption I have to work it into my skin because it's a lotion but it's worth it. Longevity If I'm outdoors or at a sporting event, one application lasts all day. Effectiveness It protects me arms, shoulders, and face perfectly without any damaging blisters or burns. Ease of Application I wish it had a spray nozzle or aerosol but it's easy to apply. I do have to get help with my back though.

I am 61 and yrs old with alot of sun damaged skin, and skin turning leathery scaly, but when i put this stuff on for the first time I felt renewed all over again..I use it all over my face my neck, legs and I will continue to use it in and out side...along with my self tanner gel..I"m set..

i recently went on a cruise to somewhere very hot, humid and sunny and needed a good sun block with a high spf. i picked up a couple tubes of this to tie me over for the week long vacation for me and my family. usually i dont like applying lotion sun block because it can get sticky quickly but i felt that spray sun block wouldnt do the job and i'd come home red as a lobster! i'm so glad i got this because it save me from getting burnt and i got a nice tan instead! the scent is like any other sunblock but this also contained aloe which is soothing for those who already had a slight case of sun burn. we ended up using both tubes up so when i got home i picked up some more for the future beach trips we planned on taking. although i hate applying sun block, this is a must for any vacation and these arent that expensive either. its better to buy them at home and bring them in luggage rather than spend 5x that for a tiny bottle on vacation.

As a very active person I have to count on them to stay safe under the sun I take everyday in my bike ridings and runnings. Banana Boat Ultra Defense Broad Spectrum Sunblock SPF 50 is very stable and resistant and totally meets my needs. I already tried an enourmous variety of sunscreens, including the most expensive ones in the market. What I discover is that Banana Boat Ultra Defense Broad Spectrum Sunblock SPF 50 is far the best sunscreen I tried. Not to mention the price, which for me is very affordable! The best news is that It doens't feel greesy at all! And the smell is unbelievable! It relaxes me and makes me ready to go on my everyday activities without worries and anxieties about my skin health. I am really happy that I found this product and I recommend it to all my friends.

I applied the sunscreen liberally before sitting outside for a few hours in the hot California sun. I didn't burn, but did tan a bit, so for those with extremely sun-sensitive skin perhaps more protection is needed. I burn pretty easy and this was my first trip out in the sun this spring. I would guess that it needs to be reapplied often, but overall for the price I'm satisfied. I didn't use it on my face as I have sensitive skin, but I'd imagine it is fairly gentle.
