I purchased this recently having switched from a solid deodorant sold by another company.  This was on sale and I liked the packaging and had used Ban in the past.  I remembered the roll-on deodorant fondly.  I was very disappointed when I went to use the clear gel.  I turned the knob and nothing came out of the holes on the top.  I turned the knob again and a lot of gel oozed out of the package.  I had to wipe the head off and throw out the excess before I could use the deodorant.  Once on, it felt ok and did provide clear protection but I felt like I had wasted a lot of product.  The next day I thought it would work better and turned it just a tiny bit but there was still a lot of product oozing out - a repeat of what had happened the day before.  The gel felt good when I applied it, not sticky or heavy and the smell was not overwhelming but just right.  I would certainly try Ban again but in a different form.
