I don't know why he loves it, but he does!

This is something I am ashamed to say I spent money on--it is just a ramp made out of corrugated cardboard. However, a friend recommended it to me as something her cat enjoyed, so I thought I'd give it a try. My big male cat is obsessed with this ramp. He loves scratching on it and chewing it to shreds. I, on the other hand, don't enjoy cleaning up the tiny bits of cardboard that he spits out, but I will sacrifice for his pleasure. When he's not feeling especially frisky, he also enjoys lounging around on this ramp. It doesn't look comfortable to me, but he'll even sleep on the ramp. Whenever I notice he's not paying much attention to this, I just sprinkle it with a little fresh catnip and he becomes interested in his ramp again. The only thing he doesn't seem to like about this ramp is the small toy that's attached to the top of it. He doesn't seem to even notice it, and I think it looks a little chintzy. I don't understand why cats like things like this, but in the case of my cat, he certainly does appreciate having this ramp around.

No, we don't keep the cat stoned with catnip all the time but after he's already gotten going, he really goes at this scratcher. You would think it had supernatural powers the way he goes at it. He licks it, rolls on it, and the catnip seems to encourage him to go to the scratchboard to scratch. We haven't had nearly as many incidents of furniture scratching since he's started on this. I say go for it and get one! If you have a scratching problem, this should fix that up!

My Cats Thoroughly Approve

My cats are in love with this scratcher! They always enjoy a slanted scratcher but this has become the new preferred brand and model. They love that it is slanted as they like to sit at the top end and scratch up from bottom to top. I suppose it requires less effort. Whatever. They're strange, but they enjoy doing it so they can decide how to use their own scratcher. The scratcher is very secure and solidly made. Even when I first put the scratcher out and they descended upon it and both were trying to use it at once safety wasn't an issue. They also love that it is wider than most scratchers so they can really settle down for a good scratch without worrying that they will be overhanging the edge. Sometimes they'll even stand on the side and do a fast side to side scratch. This was a huge hit with both them (fun and easy to use) and me (reasonably sized, safe, and relatively inexpensive) so we all highly recommend it.

My cat actually uses this one!

My cat is pretty picky. Even when she likes something, it tends to get old fast & she'll move onto something else. Recently, she's started scratching some things she shouldn't so we decided to get her some new scratch toys. I saw this one, very reasonably priced, & figured we couldn't lose. I was right! As soon as we put it out she started to use it, & not our furniture. I've had it for a bit now, & still see her scratching it every day. It comes with cat nip to grab their attention & the replaceable boards are sold seperately (but can also be rotated to get maximum use out of them). In the ad for it, it also mentioned it was fully recycleable, which is an added bonus in my eyes. As with nearly everything, it isn't 100% perfect. I've noticed with other scratch toys, and this one is not exempt, I tend to find tiny pieces of cardboard EVERYWHERE!! Yes, it does track if not cleaned up daily. My only other complaint is that this product is quite light-weight & moves around. My cat has somehow figured out if she sits on it with her tush in the air, and scratches the bottom of the ramp, it won't move. What a smarty!
