Our 7 year old son came home from school very excited about a "new" type of game that a friend of his showed him. The Bakugan toys were something I'd never paid any attention to, but noticed that McDonald's had them in the kids' meals so we went out for dinner and thus began the new love of Bakugan. After seeing how much our son enjoyed the "fast food" version we decided to pick up a couple of the REAL Bakugan toys to reward him for an achievement at school. The toys seem like they would be a little fragile, but from our experience they are very durable. they are also very cool. The balls pop open into characters when they are set on an activation card (basically a small magnet in the toy reacts to a bit of metal in the card). There is a "battle" between the players and the player with the higher points wins (GO MATH!). They are a little pricey in my opinion but are in line with similar "collect and trade" type toys.
