I bought this item with my second child since my older child was active at 2 1/2.  It allowed us to free up our hands during her gymastic classes and still carry the baby, as well as great to rock him to sleep while we were mopping, vacuuming, or just playing in the back yard.

It is also easy to put on yourself once you learn how it works.
