I have a 11 month old and he hates to snuggle.  He has been like this since they day I brought him home from the hospital.  Leave him do his own thing and he is happy, attempt to snuggle and he pushes away.  Even when he falls down and gets hurt, he pushes me away and dosn't want to be comforted.  Is this normal?

Yup completely.  Every baby has a different temperment and prefers different things.  My niece was and still is like that and she's perfectly normal.  It's just a more independent personality.

My oldest son was that way... he was my first child and I had a hard time because I thought it was something I was doing wrong... nope; it was just his personality.  Second child- complete snuggler!

Hi Carmal - I'd suggest mentioning this to your child's doctor. In some cases, low social interaction indicates some concerns.

That being said, I had one snuggle bunny and one not so much. The one who didn't like to be held so much did, however, like to crawl in bed and put his feet (only the feet) on me. No clue why. That was just his way. He reached out but made his connection when falling asleep with his little toes pressed against my leg.

Both boys grew up just fine. Snuggly is still a little more snuggly. Non snuggly is more demonstrative at times now.

Having spent 8 years as a pre-school teacher, I can tell you that kids - including babies - are as different form one another as adults are. I'm guessing your little one will have other forms of affection that he likes and even craves - you'll notice them soon enough, if you haven't already.
