This book totally made a world of diffeence in our life as a family. With my first child, we were up round the clock, arguing over who would take care of the baby next. When our second child came along, I spent countless nights, letting her cry without realizing the correct way to teach baby a routine. read full review »This book has been a great guide for my 3 children and I recommend it to any new parent I come across, but I do like to caution parents to not take things too literally. Do not make the mistake of thinking this book is about hyperscheduling. It is not. This book does not support hyperscheduling, but I think some people think this book is about that. I think the best things I took away from this book is that:
1. Demand feeding is tiring and not best for you or baby! Hyperscheduling is also wrong, but a flexible schedule or a "parent-directed schedule" is best.

read full review »These books get a lot of talk, good and bad, but I think this book is great! I have read it many times as my son grew from stage to stage, and always took new tips that were relevant to him at that point. I wouldn't necessarily take every word and follow it to the tee, because I believe it's important to look at each child differently and see what is best for them.
But it did wonders for us, and my son was sleeping at least 7 hours through the night at 6 weeks old, and now he's two and always takes naps and goes down at night without a problem. This book taught us how to teach him to fall...
