This book has been a great guide for my 3 children and I recommend it to any new parent I come across, but I do like to caution parents to not take things too literally. Do not make the mistake of thinking this book is about hyperscheduling. It is not. This book does not support hyperscheduling, but I think some people think this book is about that. I think the best things I took away from this book is that:
1. Demand feeding is tiring and not best for you or baby! Hyperscheduling is also wrong, but a flexible schedule or a "parent-directed schedule" is best.
2. A cycle of: Eat, wake-time, then sleep time is best.
3. Babies sometimes need to cry a little before falling asleep and need to learn to fall asleep on their own without sleep props.
