Seats were great until the recall - then it headed downhill.

I have twins, so we have the twin Snap-N-Go stroller and 2 car seats. The seats are easy to carry, and getting the babies in and out is as convenient as could be expected. Attaching to the Snap-N-Go is fairly convenient as well, although you do not "Snap and Go" - even the car seats made by the same manufacturer do not snap onto the bars of the stroller, and to ensure safety, you must fasten straps across the seats when putting the seats in and, of course, unfasten them when taking the seats out. However, I was generally pleased with the product until the Rigid Latch Loc bases were recalled. Although I had sent in the registration cards, I did not receive a notification from Baby Trend. Instead, the people who had bought the seats as gifts received notification through Target.com, where they had been purchased. I checked the BabyTrend website, but there was nothing helpful there, so I called. After waiting on hold for just over 22 minutes, I provided the requested information, and was told that I would receive return labels in the mail in a few days, so that I could pack and send the bases back, after which they would send me a different model of base, the Flex-Loc. Or, if I wanted the Latch Loc, which is easier to install, I could wait for about 45 days, and then make the exchange. Either way, the only way to get a replacement is to spend my time and money on packing and sending (the label will pay for the shipping costs), and then wait until replacements arrive - a significant wait, if I want the same bases that I had originally! In the meantime, I should read my owners' manual to find out how to install the seats in my car without the bases. I was told that if I had difficulty following these instructions, I should find some organization locally that could help me. Needless to say, there will not be anything close to "Snapping and Going" without a snap-in base! So, even though the problem is with the carseat base, it really impacts the whole Snap and Go System. I have read elsewhere that Baby Trend Customer Service is poor, and now I know from experience that this is true. While the representative was friendly and provided the information clearly, the business is not giving her the option to really do the job of serving customers. I asked if there was any other type of compensation being offered, and there was not. The great thing about the Snap and Go System is its convenience - it's sad that handling a problem with one item so poorly makes the whole system less convenient than other manufacturers' products.
