Most HelpfulThe Diaper Champ
When both of my kids were infants, I never had a diaper pail. I would just walk the smelly diapers outside to the trash. Now that I own a daycare, I would constantly be outside, as many diapers as I change.
I knew I wanted some sort of diaper pail but wasn't exactly sure which kind. ...

Most HelpfulAs diaper pails go, I like the way the Diaper Champ functions. The lid is easy to operate one handed and does a good job of keeping the contents of the pail away from the open air. Not having to buy refills is a huge plus. For the first six months of my baby's life, I thought the Diaper Champ was doing...
review »We loved our first Diaper Champ (the original design).
We got the "new and improved" one (PINK) when our second child was born. After one week of use we never used it again. We were careful to leave the piston thing fully up or down so as to seal. Regardless of what we did the diaper champ did nothing to contain any smells. We tried everything we could and Baby Trend Customer Service could only tell us to change the bag every day. If we were going to change the bag every day then we would have been just as good using the baggie on the door knob method.
Like I said the original design did use...
review »I had a co-worker tell me that he owned one Diaper Champ for every room in his house!
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!
He had like 4 of them!!! Ugh......one is enough, thank you.....
Enough changing of the bags, enough smell, enough trying to get the diaper in the 3 inch diameter hole & then "flushing it down" this crazy contraption without the sides getting stuck & me having to open it up to "unclog" the diaper & then smelling the most foul odor you can imagine.....ENOUGH!
Needless to say, I'm not a fan of the Diaper Champ. BUT....that doen't mean I'm a fan of any other diaper-disposing receptacle other...
review »I wish I found the Diaper Champ sooner! We used another brand with our first two children and were constantly battling with twists, cuts, and having to spend money on new bags. That one eventually broke and we replaced it with the Diaper Champ when we adopted child 3 and 4. With three kids that have special needs we knew diapers would be in our future for quite some time!
I was glad to see this diaper pail uses regular kitchen bags inside and in a pinch ANY type of bag will do the trick, even a grocery store bag. We fill the Diaper Champ every 2-3 days but it is very easy to pull out the...
review »It's a really good invention, the baby trend diaper champ. It makes clean up a breeze, it doesn't leave a smell, and it's just a pretty good invention. The only bad thing I can say about it is the diapers do tend to get stuck, so it makes turning it kinda hard. I use one all the time though. Make sure you don't forget to empty it after it starts getting full, if not you won't be able to get the next one in. It's easy to use, easy to disinfect, and makes life simplier. It uses normal trash bags, so you don't have to buy expensive refill bags. You can use it easily one handed. Easy to...
review »I have owned four diaper pails, and this one is by far the best. It contains the odors better than the Diaper Dekor, Diaper Genie II, and the other one I had (can't remember the brand name). It's easy to operate with one hand (while the other hand holds baby steady on the changing pad). It uses regular trash bags--which is a huge convenience and money saver.
As a mother of three, I can highly recommend this to anyone who is shopping for a new diaper pail.
I have not had any problems with my older children trying to drop in toys. Actually, my 4-year-old loves to help me turn the handle to throw...
review »I have been extremely happy with our Diaper Champ. It is very easy to use - you just close up the diaper, drop it into the hole, and flip over the top. It really does a good job keeping the smell contained. Another really nice thing about the Diaper Champ is that you can use regular large kitchen bags.
For the first year of our son's life we would only empty it one time a week! Not having to worry about dirty diapers for a whole week when you have a new baby is really nice. Now that he's older (almost 2) we empty it two times a week. Usually by the time it's ready to be emptied...
review »This is a very cost effective and easy to use diaper pail. I like this one over others that I have seen as it does not require special bags to be purchased. I use Glad Odor Shield 13 gallon garbage bags and they work great! I will say that if you have some really smelly diapers in the pail you will begin to smell them if you don't change the bag. I think that goes without saying though for any pail. I think this would be great for cloth diaper users as well. Diaper Genie systems wrap every diaper in plastic meaning that not only are you going to flush A LOT MORE money down the toilet,...
review »I received this product at my baby shower, I was unsure about this product compared to the other brands like Diaper Genie or if I would just use a standard wastebasket. However once I started using it I found it is the best system.
The Pro's are that it uses regular trash bags compared to others that you have to use their dispossal bags that increase the cost of the system. You may pay more for the Diaper Champ but in the long run it is cheaper because you don't have the expensive bags, you can use the same bags you use in your kitchen. It is simple to assemble and to use. It also looks good,...
review »I recieved my diaper champ as a gift from another mom who loved it! My favorite thing about it is that it doesn't require any of those expensive bags like the diaper genie does. It just uses regular kitchen sized trash bags. It totally contains the smell of the dirty diapers inside, and it holds a lot of diapers!
It is super easy to use! You just put the diaper in the opening and rock the handle back. It drops the diaper into the bag. I probably have to empty the bag once a week, I have a newborn and they poop a lot! It's not difficult to remove the bag, the latch is tight to keep the smell...
review »I, like every other mom and/or dad to be, look for the best products (even if they do cost a little bit more than other products). So when it came to diapering our first child, born in May 2007, we knew we were not going to be cloth diapering parents as our baby would be in day care from 6mths and more providers do not like cloth diapers.
Anyway...............I did my research, red reviews, talked to other moms about what diaper waste system is the best. Some said Diaper champ, some said others.
My first attraction to this product was that you did not have to buy their expensive refills,...
review »We received the Baby Trend Diaper Champ as a gift before we had our first baby, in 2002. We heard great things about the Diaper Champ at several stores, with the main point being that you don't have to buy any special bags for it, as it uses regular trash bags. We LOVED the Diaper Champ when we first used it. It really did keep all of the diaper odors away, so the nursery didn't reek. You just put the dirty diaper in, give it a flip, and forget about it until garbage day!
Fast forward 7 years and 3 more babies....
The pail still works. It flips the diapers into the garbage bag, and doesn't...
