As diaper pails go, I like the way the Diaper Champ functions. The lid is easy to operate one handed and does a good job of keeping the contents of the pail away from the open air. Not having to buy refills is a huge plus. For the first six months of my baby's life, I thought the Diaper Champ was doing everything it should to hold diapers and contain odors.
That was before we started solids. Once my daughter had her first few slurps of rice cereal, the diapers were just too much for the pail. Odors were not contained, and as she got older and the diapers got bigger, the pail filled more quickly. I stopped using it before she was a year old. I don't regret spending less than thirty dollars on this pail, since I used it many times a day for six months, but I definitely wouldn't get a diaper pail again if I had another baby. It doesn't do anything that a lidded trash can can't accomplish, and it's irrational to expect much more out of a cheap plastic pail with plastic bags inside.
