This product is wonderful. We have never used any other monitor for our son. We used it first in his bassinet and then moved it to his crib. I always joke that I "will use it until he is 12!" I agree with other reviewers that the pad is too small for the average size crib. My son often curls up in a corner and the alarm will sound. BUT, that inconvienence is small compared to the wreck I would be without it. Now, this is what i'm talking about! This is the monitor i wanted as a gift, but instead got another, which i reviewed also, and was not good at all. Anyways, this monitor allows me to sleep peacefully, because there is NO constant white noise and i can hear baby VERY CLEARLY, even as he just starts making little sounds, even before being fully awake. And the movement option on it, reassures me, that if, God forbid, he should get stuck with his face in the matress or something, the alarm will go off and i'll have time to go save him. We got this monitor as a baby shower gift, and i was a bit upset, because I had set up a baby gift registry, and that is not the baby monitor i had chosen. But anyways, my husband said we should try it before baby got here, so we'd know wether it corresponded to our needs, as I am a worry freak! So, we installed all of the units and all we hear was white noise. We switched channels, many times, still the same thing. We even moved around the units, always the same thing! This was the second monitor i bought, my bedrooma nd my babies bedroom are right acoss the hall from each other not much distance, well this monitor would have high frequency noise all the time. This is a great monitor, great clarity and goes a long distance. The only bad thing is that if there's any interference or if you turn it slight - walk in front of it - etc...it beeps to tell you that you are out of range. It's a GOOD thing that it tells you that but the beeping is loud and annoying and you can't adjust that volume. I bought this monitor after having my second baby and wished I had spent the money and bought one when I had my first baby! It is wonderful to be able to see you baby in their crib and not have to open the door to peek and risk wakeing baby up. The picture is great in day and night mode. The volume can be turned up really loud if you are a heavy sleeper and it has a battery saving mode where the screen goes black to reserve power if you have in unplugged from the outlet. I love it!!! I absolutly love the color video monitor. I never worry about my daughter I can see her and hear her no matter if its day or night. I dont have to worry about checking on her every five minutes worried that she might pull the blanket over her face. She would do that a lot.
