Baby Mama Review Summary

Our reviewers say that Saturday Night Live alumni Tina Fey and current Weekend Update host Amy Poehler are “a match made in heaven” in their new film Baby Mama. One comedy fan raves “This movie was great. I was laughing pretty much the whole way through.” The plot follows Kate (Tina Fey) and her interaction with surrogate mother Grace (Amy Poehler), an odd match. Fey’s character is a “responsible mother-want-to-be” opposite Poehler’s Angie who has “no concept of what’s appropriate and what’s not, she doesn’t know how to really fit into adult life whatsoever.” The result is comedy gold, according to our reviewers. Also, watch for Steve Martin to steal a few scenes as Kate’s boss. Fans of Tina Fey should also check out our reviews of Mean Girls.

Amy Poehler & Tina Fey are great together in this movie.  I've been a fan of both of them for awhile now, but seeing them together in this movie was the best they've ever been!  Amy Poehler plays surrogate mother, Angie, who is just like a big kid herself.  She has no concept of what's appropriate...

I got my hopes up for Baby Mama, a comedy by the hot Saturday Night Live team of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. It's not a bad movie and it has respectable preformances and a few laughs, but it's not a laugh-a-minute comedy. Still, Baby Mama is worth seeing with your significant other on a night when...

I don't know what it is about Saturday Night Live veterans that make the move to film. They're either wildly successful, like Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, and Will Ferrell, or they can never quite get it going like Kevin Nolan, Julia Sweeney, and Joe Piscopo. With the news that two of the more recent veterans of the show, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, were doing the film Baby Mama together, I wanted to think it would be just terrific, but I just wasn't too sure.

I came away from it having definitely laughed, and if you've seen the previews with Poehler peeing in the sink and asking the LaMaze expert...

This movie was really good and hilariously funny. Everyone thinks babies are adorable, and this movie really looks at the funny side of pregnancy. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler work really well together, both on SNL and in this movie. Its also really amazing that the characters are totally different but end up changing the other in an unexpected way, i.e. free spirited Angie tries to get uptight Kate to loosen up a little while Kate teaches Angie how to be a mom.

This movie was great.  I was laughing pretty much the whole way through.  There were also those moments where you just wanted to cry.  It was kind of like a comedy/chick flick mix.  There is something for everyone(except maybe children) in this movie.  I definitely recommend seeing it.  I know I will be at the store buying the DVD as soon as I can!

Baby Mama was a funny movie. I was waiting for the movie to come out on DVD, once it came out i couldn't wait to rent it. Great actors, they are entertaining to watch. Just hope no one is really like that in real life. It's a movie you can watch once, and maybe not care to watch it again.

Maybe I'm just a fan of these two woman in Baby Mama, but I loved the movie!
I never imagined the twist it took, because the previews never even hinted at it! And it gave insight to two different worlds, without really being too serious.

    Great movie!

Baby Mama was pretty funny.  It really had an upscale touch it; a little bit more down to earth.  It was funny and worth going to see again.
