Similac Sensitive R.S. Baby Formula
My son was diagnosed with severe reflux and food intolerances. While he was partially breastfed, I also had to supplement. We tried many different brands of formula and many different types of formula. We tried enfamil, bright beginnings, parents choice, just to name a few. We also tried ready to feed and powdered versions. The ready to feed version was easier for my son to digest and keep down. The powdered versions always came right back up in our faces. This formula is a good value for the money and it really does work for babies with sensitive stomachs.
The smell is unpleasant,...
review »Enfamil Premium Lipil
My son is 8 months old and we have been using this since day 1. We've tried switching to generic or other formulas but he does not tolerate it and always prefers Enfamil Lipil. He does not have gas, colic or is a fussy eater, so this formula has been the best for him.He has also never had constipation. While it is expensive, Enfamil will mail you coupons as well give you samples in the hospital bag they send you home with. You can also sign up online on their website to be put on there mailing list. Since this formula is so widely used, we have no problem finding it in every store-even when we...

review »Target Milk Based Powder Infant Formula
I picked up a can of this formula one day when we had run out of the Enfamil Iron formula that we were using. I was a bit scared at first that it would be too different and that my daughter would reject it, but she happily drank her bottle.
The only downside to this product that I noticed was that the formula clumped a bit when mixing, so I'd have to do a lot of shaking and then put it through a strainer to get and dissolve the clumps. A little extra work, but worth the money saved.
Target Milk Based Powder Infant Formula
Similac Similac Isomil
We started out on the regular similac (the blue packaging) and our son was always spitting up a GREAT amount of it rifgt after he was done. We had tried to feed slower and smaller amounts, but nothing seemed to work. We tried emfamil and he would not even drink that at all. The store brands were more similar to the emfamil then the similac, so he would not take them either. We then tried the similac in the red packaging. This is the soy formula. He spit up sometimes, but not nearly the same as with the blue packaed one. He had less gas problems then with the regular kind. I loved when they came...
review »Earth's Best Organic Infant Formula
When my daughter was first born, we decided to use Enfamil because our pediatrician recommended it for having one of the longest proven track records. A few months later, news broke that Enfamil tested positive for melamine (and cyanuric acid)- needless to say, we were appalled! I called Enfamil and they said they had no plans to change their formula since the melamine levels were under the safe limits. We immediately started researching new formulas - and, one of the few we found that did not have any melamine was Earth's Best. According to their customer service representatives, this...
review »Carnation Good Start
I switched to this formula at the end of my son's "formula career." I wish I had switched much, much earlier. My son was born 3 weeks early and was small, 5 lbs. 14 ozs. He had reflux due to his size and being slightly underdeveloped. We started on Enfamil Lipid with Iron at the hospital. He was so cranky and gassy. He would cry and scream and pull his legs up. It was horrible. So we switched to Enfamil Gentlease. He did a little better but still seemed to be quite gassy. My husband and I did not want to mess around with this and keep switching formulas so we decided at that...
review »Similac Alimentum
After many stressful and exhausting months and after trying numerous formulas, we realized that our daughter was allergic to soy, milk, had colic, and had severe reflux. We were at a complete loss for what formula would fill her up as well as help us avoid reflux seizures and awful bouts of colic while keeping in mind her allergies to soy and milk. Our pediatrician, as a close to last resort, introduced us to Similac Alimentum and that is the formula we stuck to until our daughter was one year old. She thrived on it! It is expensive and completely worth every penny!
Similac Advance Early Shield
I've used similac for all 3 of my kids. It is the closest thing to breast milk in my opinion. I'm glad my kids were able to take it.
Similac Advance
I used Similac Advance Baby formula from the time my daughter was 6 months old-12 months old. I breast fed her until she was 6 months old, which is definitely the best thing for a baby, however when work and life get in the way of being ablet o breastfeed, I beleive Similac Advance is the next best thing. My daughter transitioned really well from breast milk to Similac Advance. She has always had issues with spitting up, but things definitely didn't get any worse when we started her on the Similac Advance. It is very easy to mix, and you can buy bottles of the pre-mixed formula, that you...
review »Similac Alimentum
My son was a colicky baby. Originally he was put on Similac Advance. His first periatrician did not want to switch his formula. He had so much gas we decided to take him to another doctor who then switched him to Isomil and in turn also switched him from the Isomil to Similac Alimentum. This was great. Immediately we saw a difference in my son. There was less crying, less swpitting up and less need for infants mylicon and less need for the antac they put him on as a newborn (which I was not comfortable with anyway). Similac Alimentum, while expensive, does what it is intended to do...
review »Parent's Choice Milk Based Formula with DHA/ARA
You get more for your money and it is just as good. My son never fussed when given this and he wasn't as gassy.
Similac Advance
I HATE the new packaging of the Similac. It is so difficult to open the container. I hate the shape, it is a huge mistake.
