First of all, I'd like to say that I agree you should minimize TV time for children, ESPECIALLY babies.  I didn't start my daughter on these videos until she was more than 1 year old.  She loved them and learned many knew words, even ASL words that she didn't learn from me.  I am a… read full review »

The whole idea of television for babies, when we hear again and again that children under 2 really should not watch any, is appalling. But I'll get off my soapbox and admit that sometimes it's helpful to have a video to pop in just long enough to hop in the shower or make an important phone call.… read full review »

Baby Einstein is great for a baby under the age of 10 months or so, the bright colors, soothing sounds, and entertaining characters allows for brain development and fun all at the same time. I loved picking up a couple of these DVDs and putting them in the player plopping my bundle of joy in front of the TV and turning on the convenient 'continuous play' feature so mommy could do dishes or clean for a little while and still be sure that the she was 'getting something out of it'. — The only real downside I've had with Baby Einsteins is that it's very, very entrancing, it's hard for me to… read full review »

I wish all the critics could see how smart my daughter is.  We watch the videos together, and we have the whole set.  By 21 months of age she can identify AND SAY so many more words than her friends who are the exact same age.  She can identify all her animals and what noises they all make, all her shapes, how to count to 5, different bodies of water, and so much more.  She's learned about the weather, sign language, stores around town and transportation to get there, the list goes on.  And it's all set to classical music which has already been proven to aid in… read full review »

My children have several of the Baby Einstein movies.  If any of them are crabby or getting into something, all I ahve to do is put one of these movies on and their attention turns quickly to the tv. screen.  My children love to repeat the names of the animals, colors, numbers, shapes, etc.  These movies are fun to watch and also are educational.  There is no loud music and everything is safe for them to see.  Plus, I enjoy that there are books, cd's, and toys that can go along with these… read full review »

My favorite baby shower gift was 2 baby einstein videos, it still is my favorite after 3 kids.  It was the only gift that allowed me five minutes to start dinner or interact with my kids.  The music is enjoyable and not annoying like some kids videos.  I just cant explain enough how helpful it is to let the babies see life while at… read full review »

While I am not a parent I have been babysitting practically all my life. In my experience these videos are great. The kids love them and they have great themes. These are not videos to place the child alone with. The whole point of these videos is to interact with your child. And it is so much fun for the baby as well as you. I love them and if you have a child or if you babysit I say get these videos.… read full review »

I personally own a collection of Baby Einstein DVDs and CDs.  My child is now 24 years old and still countinues to pursue her education.  We both wish that we had these DVDs and CDs in our lives when we were growing up.  You just don't pop it into the DVD player and leave your child to watch it.  I found that you and your child will benefit from it, if you watch it together.  When I babysit for family and friends, the kids go straight to the Baby Einstein DVDs and CDs, pick one out and ask me to put it in the DVD or CD player.  I sit with them and also… read full review »

Let's face it, lots of parents say they don't want their child watching too much TV.  However I feel these videos are fantastic, educational and provide an often needed break for working mommies!  I was skeptical of these videos at first, yet received a set of these when my son was born.  We started watching them when my son was about a year old.  Baby Mozart was a soothing, and beautiful DVD, and five years later is still my son's favorite.  We showed him Baby Santa two months later at Christmas time.  Let me just say, if you pick the right TV shows to… read full review »

When I had my first child I recieved the baby mozart dvd with the music cd.  Once my daughter got older we would watch the dvd and she would be instantly captivated with the sounds and images on the screen.  I loved her reaction and appreciated the fact that the images and characters were not anoying or obnoxious for me to watch. So many childrens videos have characters that are loud or way to corny for adults to watch. As so many parents realize though we will be watching these videaos with our kids over, and over, and over again. I like that when I put… read full review »

I have used "Baby Einstein" Movies since the day my four year old was born.  As a new born, I played Baby Mozart for him.  It is designed to stimulate the brain by sight and sound.  He loved it, he would lay there on the floor or in his bouncer, just kicking, and smiling, and making all kinds of happy baby sounds.  — I kept buying them as he got older and I was able to use them for my second son also.  And they are still fun for the older kids to watch along side the younger kids.  They offer different learning levels of shapes, colors, music, instruments,… read full review »

Some of the worst things I have ever seen made for children...If you want your child to expierence classical music...try playing some and then dance with them....that will stimulate all of thier little wonderful minds....Imagination, creative play, that is what is needed to make your child bright and smart...and also Parents-Parents who care and want to play and spend time with thier child. Not a Video- that will only addict your child to TV and become your worst nightmare....see example below.... — — — I do daycare, and I had a parent who only sat their newborn in front… read full review »

I was not a big fan of having my daughter watching movies and tv all the time, having babysat for years for my 12 little cousins.  It always bothered me to be inside on a gorgeous day, watching little 5 year olds glued to the tv.  — So, when I was pregnant and recieved the baby einstein numbers nursery video, I was less than enthused.  I held out for a looong time, until we were moving house and my little girl was just getting under everyone's feet and pulling things out of boxes, etc.  Out of desperation, I popped in the video.  She was GLUED to the tv. … read full review »

My twin boys were born 13 weeks prematurely, so right from the start I was very focused on their physical and cognitive development.  We received our first baby einstein dvd as a gift for their first birthday from a friend.  The language nursery.  I was AMAZED at how instantly the boys became completely transfixed by the information and activity on the screen.  We ended up buying a total of about 8 of the various DVDs in this series and they have LOVED them all.  The twins are now 6 and STILL enjoy watching them occassionally!  They loved the classical music and… read full review »

Not that tv time is the best but it is a normal part of our lives no a days. I have to admit it and these videos are designed with babies in mind. It is a great way to introduce subjects and colors and basics to babies that you can't explain to since they don'/t get words...it is amazing how much babies can learn and pick up and it is best to know what you are exposing them too. I love pbs kids sprout also for him as he got older but these are great for the baby stage.... now I will comment on noggin too and other channels bc I am opinionated on it, I am mad that they will influence my child… read full review »
