I have used "Baby Einstein" Movies since the day my four year old was born. As a new born, I played Baby Mozart for him. It is designed to stimulate the brain by sight and sound. He loved it, he would lay there on the floor or in his bouncer, just kicking, and smiling, and making all kinds of happy baby sounds.
I kept buying them as he got older and I was able to use them for my second son also. And they are still fun for the older kids to watch along side the younger kids. They offer different learning levels of shapes, colors, music, instruments, animals(farm, water, pets, etc), words, sounds of words, languages(one has ten languages to get them used to the variations in the sounds). All the products are reasonably priced as well.
Both my sons knew a good portion of colors, shapes, letters, and numbers by the time they were two. I think every child has the ability to learn at earlier ages if you give them the opportunity. And Baby Einstein offers that chance for the kids and gives the parents tools to help them.
Now, they have come out with the "Little Einsteins", which is directed towards the 2 and up age group. It is designed to use your imagination and go on journeys with the Little Einstein kids. "Little Einstein" now appears on the Disney Channel and you can also get the DVDs.
