Baby Einstein DVD Collection Review Summary

The Baby Einstein Company provides a series of videos geared toward infants and toddlers that range in content from straight classical music to learning about the world around them (shapes, animals and baby sign to name a few). Baby Einstein DVD's and Videos are seen by the majority of reviewers as “excellent learning and entertaining tools for babies and toddlers.” While parents agree that Baby Einstein videos provide a way to take a quick shower or calm down a fussing infant, they also agree the videos should be used in moderation as well. The music included on the Baby Einstein DVDs is enjoyable classical music arranged to suit young children. In addition, Baby Einstein Videos are “simple enough while being action packed and colorful to captivate even the most picky baby.” While several reviews state their child was disinterested with the video or that the Baby Einstein videos were just plain weird the vast majority claim their little on “loves them all.” Check out what parents think about other Baby Einstein products here on Viewpoints.

My little girl wouldn't stay still for 5 minutes, let alone through a movie! That is until I got the Baby Einstein collection!

She loves them all! She will stay put through the whole movie, and I don't feel guilty because they are educational. She's learned so many useful things from these movies. She...

The whole idea of television for babies, when we hear again and again that children under 2 really should not watch any, is appalling. But I'll get off my soapbox and admit that sometimes it's helpful to have a video to pop in just long enough to hop in the shower or make an important phone call. Just...

I wish all the critics could see how smart my daughter is.  We watch the videos together, and we have the whole set.  By 21 months of age she can identify AND SAY so many more words than her friends who are the exact same age.  She can identify all her animals and what noises they all make, all her shapes, how to count to 5, different bodies of water, and so much more.  She's learned about the weather, sign language, stores around town and transportation to get there, the list goes on.  And it's all set to classical music which has already been proven to aid in learning.  Critics of these... read full review »

First of all, I'd like to say that I agree you should minimize TV time for children, ESPECIALLY babies.  I didn't start my daughter on these videos until she was more than 1 year old.  She loved them and learned many knew words, even ASL words that she didn't learn from me.  I am a parent who does believe in spending quality time with my children, even though I work and have a very busy schedule.  These videos are designed so that you sit and watch then with your child and explain what is going on.  I did this in the beginning, but as she got older I didn't have to because she began to identify...

Baby Einstein is great for a baby under the age of 10 months or so, the bright colors, soothing sounds, and entertaining characters allows for brain development and fun all at the same time. I loved picking up a couple of these DVDs and putting them in the player plopping my bundle of joy in front of the TV and turning on the convenient 'continuous play' feature so mommy could do dishes or clean for a little while and still be sure that the she was 'getting something out of it'.
The only real downside I've had with Baby Einsteins is that it's very, very entrancing, it's hard for me to not watch...

I would be lying if I said that I show Baby Einstein videos to my son because they are educational - yes that's a huge consideration - but the main reason is that Baby Einstein videos mean I can take a shower!  My son loves watching these and their 22 minute length allows me just enough time to jump in the shower and dress without worrying that my son needs attention or is unhappy.  All of the DVD's are amazing - Baby Van Gogh, Baby Mozart, Neighborhood Animals, Baby Neptune, Baby Shakespeare...I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite.  The same with my son.  The production quality is amazing,...

My children have several of the Baby Einstein movies.  If any of them are crabby or getting into something, all I ahve to do is put one of these movies on and their attention turns quickly to the tv. screen.  My children love to repeat the names of the animals, colors, numbers, shapes, etc.  These movies are fun to watch and also are educational.  There is no loud music and everything is safe for them to see.  Plus, I enjoy that there are books, cd's, and toys that can go along with these videos.

My favorite baby shower gift was 2 baby einstein videos, it still is my favorite after 3 kids.  It was the only gift that allowed me five minutes to start dinner or interact with my kids.  The music is enjoyable and not annoying like some kids videos.  I just cant explain enough how helpful it is to let the babies see life while at home.

The Baby Einstein collection are heaven sent! I was introduced to the series when I was prgnant with my child by education conscious family friends with a child of their own. When I made sure my baby's main needs were taken care of and he was still crying, I'd pop the dvd in and like magic, instant peace and quiet. Now, my son is ahead of his age smarts wise and can catch the beat of any music in moments! He still loves watching the dvds now! An A+++ collection!

While I am not a parent I have been babysitting practically all my life. In my experience these videos are great. The kids love them and they have great themes. These are not videos to place the child alone with. The whole point of these videos is to interact with your child. And it is so much fun for the baby as well as you. I love them and if you have a child or if you babysit I say get these videos.

Babies innate curiosity about all they see and hear increases on a daily basis. Before long, they begin to associate words with object and to imitate and articulate sounds. Why not give their eyes and ears something wonderful to feast upon? BABY SHAKESPEARE" presents little ones with 12 common words that can be found within the rich context of classic poems and the beauty of nature. By combining the poetry with engaging puppet shows, funny sound effects, colorful, stimulating images and the glorious music of Ludwig van Beethoven, this exciting introduction to language provides countless opportunities... read full review »

I personally own a collection of Baby Einstein DVDs and CDs.  My child is now 24 years old and still countinues to pursue her education.  We both wish that we had these DVDs and CDs in our lives when we were growing up.  You just don't pop it into the DVD player and leave your child to watch it.  I found that you and your child will benefit from it, if you watch it together.  When I babysit for family and friends, the kids go straight to the Baby Einstein DVDs and CDs, pick one out and ask me to put it in the DVD or CD player.  I sit with them and also participate, other members in the household... read full review »

Let's face it, lots of parents say they don't want their child watching too much TV.  However I feel these videos are fantastic, educational and provide an often needed break for working mommies!  I was skeptical of these videos at first, yet received a set of these when my son was born.  We started watching them when my son was about a year old.  Baby Mozart was a soothing, and beautiful DVD, and five years later is still my son's favorite.  We showed him Baby Santa two months later at Christmas time.  Let me just say, if you pick the right TV shows to play for your children they can and...

When I had my first child I recieved the baby mozart dvd with the music cd.  Once my daughter got older we would watch the dvd and she would be instantly captivated with the sounds and images on the screen.

I loved her reaction and appreciated the fact that the images and characters were not anoying or obnoxious for me to watch. So many childrens videos have characters that are loud or way to corny for adults to watch. As so many parents realize though we will be watching these videaos with our kids over, and over, and over again. I like that when I put on the baby einstein videos I don't...

I have used "Baby Einstein" Movies since the day my four year old was born.  As a new born, I played Baby Mozart for him.  It is designed to stimulate the brain by sight and sound.  He loved it, he would lay there on the floor or in his bouncer, just kicking, and smiling, and making all kinds of happy baby sounds.

I kept buying them as he got older and I was able to use them for my second son also.  And they are still fun for the older kids to watch along side the younger kids.  They offer different learning levels of shapes, colors, music, instruments, animals(farm, water, pets, etc), words,...
