I personally own a collection of Baby Einstein DVDs and CDs.  My child is now 24 years old and still countinues to pursue her education.  We both wish that we had these DVDs and CDs in our lives when we were growing up.  You just don't pop it into the DVD player and leave your child to watch it.  I found that you and your child will benefit from it, if you watch it together.  When I babysit for family and friends, the kids go straight to the Baby Einstein DVDs and CDs, pick one out and ask me to put it in the DVD or CD player.  I sit with them and also participate, other members in the household and any guests stopping by also stop what they are doing to join in.  Everyone is always interested and have lots of fun learning.  I have given lots of them their own copies for birthday and Christmas presents.  They have memorized what is next, as we watch.  Some of them started talking early; began reciting the alphabet and counting; recognizing and pointing out alphabet letters and numbers; and knew their colors and shapes at a very early age.  Those who have started daycare, preschool and kindergarten are ahead of their peers in a lot of developmental stages, thanks to the Baby Einstein videos, myself , their parents, grandparents, and other family members.  Baby Einstein has helped us to be positive role models involved in our childrens' learning because we show our interests in learning along with them.  These DVDs and CDs captures the attention of young and old.
