First of all, I'd like to say that I agree you should minimize TV time for children, ESPECIALLY babies. I didn't start my daughter on these videos until she was more than 1 year old. She loved them and learned many knew words, even ASL words that she didn't learn from me. I am a parent who does believe in spending quality time with my children, even though I work and have a very busy schedule. These videos are designed so that you sit and watch then with your child and explain what is going on. I did this in the beginning, but as she got older I didn't have to because she began to identify things on her own and understand better what was going on. Her first Baby Einstein tapes were "Neighborhood Animals" and "World Animals" and she really loved them.
Some of the other videos also helped to reinforce letter and number recognition when I was teaching her the alphabet and how to count.
I intend to use them as teaching tools for my youngest as well when she gets a little older.
