Where do I begin? I have been a member of BabyCenter since I was pregnant with my first child. I love this site because it has so much parenting information and articles I can refer to. It seems that I could find the answer to every parenting question I had on this site. Even if I typed my question in a search engine, BabyCenter always seems to be among the first sites to pop up with the answers I needed.
You can either join the website as a member (free), or browse it as a guest. I joined because I liked having the personalized features. You enter each of your children and their birthdates and BabyCenter will automatically keep track of their age and stage. You can even have an "ages and stages" email sent to your inbox as your child grows. I have been receiving these growth and development emails since I was pregnant with my first. During that time, they were weekly emails with detailed information on how your unborn child is growing and things you can expect at that stage in your pregnancy. Now that my daughter is almost 3 years old, I am getting monthly updates on what I could look for or encourage for her age. I have been doing the same for my 9-month-old and at her age am still getting weekly updates. I really enjoy these emails!
BabyCenter doesn't just cater to parents and parents-to-be, but also to people who "dream-to-be-parents" with their helpful section on "Getting Pregnant". Typically this site ranges in helpful information from "Trying to conceive", to pregnancy, to parenting children from newborn to age 8.
There are community pages where you can ask other parents for advice and a bulletin board for discussion. There is also a great store where they feature some of the best baby and children's products on the market.
There really is a lot more to this site that I have yet to explore. Generally I go there to answer my own questions and to track my children's milestones. I have and will recommend this site to any first-time parent.
