Being a first time mum and a single parent with a small home business to run, meant having to juggle alot of balls in the air. Being Safety conscious without alot of knowledge or experience in baby products I found the prospect of finding a safe child carrier for my son daunting.
I wanted a product that was safe, practical, versatile and comfortable for both my son and myself. I had tried a baby sling and did not feel it provided enough support. I was then given a baby-bjorn carrier and have never looked back!
Its versastility (could carry child facing myself or facing out towards the world or even around my back) meant it was more pratical to use on a day to day basis. I was able to carry out your daily household chores (vacuuming, peg out washing, even get on the floor to scrub and polish scuff marks!), Take my dogs for walks, go grocery shopping using a trolley and not a basket ontop of the pram, and yes run my home based computer business while my child slept close to my heart.
It has a great support system with its padded cross straps that click in 4 places. This meant the weight was more evenly distributed and i was able to use the carrier for longer periods of time without a great strain on my back.
Its conservative design also meant that I could use it anywhere, any time without lokking like something that had just stepped out of a clown car!
More importantly it carried one of the higher safety standards on the market I had seen. For a parent this is one of the most importants factors in choosing the right product for your child. I was more than happy to pay a little extra for a product I knew could provide everything I have mentioned above.
I have since reccommended this carrier to other mothers I have met and would not hesitate to reccommend it again.
