Baby-wearing is a fantastic way to bond with your new child and make parenting more enjoyable. I highly recommend all new parents invest in a high-quality carrier that works for them. The 80 dollar price tag on a Baby Bjorn should not be a deterrent for something a baby wearer will use every day.
What should be a deterrent is the fact that wearing a child in this nylon front carrier is so uncomfortable. Both you and the baby are strapped tightly together without much room to wiggle or any way to shift positions. My daughter and I were always sweaty. Once she hit fifteen pounds, she was a dead weight hanging off my shoulders and murder on my lower back. I'm fit and not at all prone to random aches and pains, but the strain of carrying her this way was more than I could take. After she was about three months old, I did not use my Baby Bjorn again. There is no way I could have continued using it until she reached the manufacturer's 22 pound weight limit.
