Like most new moms, Babies R Us was the first place I thought of to register for gifts. They made it pretty easy, and so I went along. I registered for most everything there, and that seemed fine. And then last summer they changed their return policy. Suddenly, you not only had to have receipts for everything (even items that were gifts and that they had in the store), and they started limiting when you could return things off your registry. So I received 2 Baby Bijorns, but didn't try to take the 2nd one back for a couple months after the baby was born, and they refused to take it back. We also got a diaper bag for my husband that he never ended up using and they refused to take that back too. They also really limit when you can return any items like shampoos and things. If you talk to their managers, they say it's the same policy that Toys R Us has had for years, but they don't seem to understand that registry for baby items is very different than buying a birthday present. If your shower is a month or so before the baby's born, and you don't rush out to return something right after the baby's born, you can easily run up against their time limit. I also find that their coupons that they give you always have a catch. I've shopped at Babies R Us from Virginia to California, and my advice is to avoid it if you at all can. They won't appreciate your business and don't take care of their customers.
