My 4 x4 pickup rides like a car on these tires

A 4x4 pickup owner, value conscious, brand loyal, love to travel, in need of great all season tires, impressed with these tires

    I am on my second set of these tires and have become a loyal customer because of them. When I bought my truck 4 years ago it had Goodyear tires on it in need of replacement. A friend of mine had these BF Goodrich tires and swore by them, so I decided to give them a try.

    My impressions

    At almost $25 a tire cheaper than the ones it had on it and an aggressive tread pattern I liked, I was impressed from the start. On my first ride with the new tires I was at highway speed (70 mph) and could not hear them at all. Now we are talking about a 4 x 4 pickup with 10 1/2" wide tires. I also did not have any sway or give in corners and a surprisingly smooth ride.

    The Facts

    BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A tires come with an impressive spec sheet to go along with my impressions. Here are the ratings:

    Cornering Stability -- 7.3
    Wet Traction -- 6.9
    Dry Traction -- 8.2
    Snow light -- 6.7
    Snow heavy -- 6.2
    Noise comfort -- 7.8
    Steering response -- 7.5
    Hydroplaning resistance -- 7.1
    Ride comfort -- 7.9
    Treadwear -- 8.1

    4.6 to 6.5 Good
    6.6 to 8.5 Excellent
    8.5 to 10 Superior

    (These are customer ratings not those of the manufacturer, but they are only a fraction off of what BF Goodrich has reported. I agree with all of these except the heavy snow, because of 4 x 4 mode and I also have posi-traction I would rate them closer to 6.9 to 7.0)

    They also come with a 50,000 warranty and since I bought them with the protection plus package at Sam's Club I also have lifetime rotation and flat repair included.

    Bottom Line

    My first set I got 54,000 miles on them before I replaced them and I still had not reached the wear bars on them. However I never stretch tires to the wear bars as I would rather be safe than sorry. I had no signs of sidewall problems at all either, I was told I could have got another 2500 miles easy by the tire people at Sam's. These tires on my truck are great, you can't tell your riding in a 4 x 4 pickup they ride so smooth. They don't sing going down the road (however I do if I like the song...;)..lol )

    At $108 per tire for the quality I have experienced I feel these tires are an exceptional value and I stand behind my tires. I have pulled a trailer weighing in at 7,400lbs with these tires and still had a very smooth and uneventful ride.
