We all get the mailbox full of junk mail, it is the American way after all. Along with that junk mail are all those credit card offers and a chance someone could steal your identity. We all need to be aware of that danger and do something about it. I am doing my best and my Champion Paper Shredder helps me do just that.

How it Works

The Champion Shredder takes what you feed it and proceeds to pulverize it into diamond shaped confetti. The smaller the pieces the more you can be sure that nobody can put them back together, thus protecting your valuable credit for would be thieves. The Champion makes a mountain of little paper shreds and I know my stuff is safe. The shredder is automatic, just insert the paper and it begins its destruction through the razor sharp teeth in the shredder housing. Paper jams are no problem as there is a reverse on it too unjam it should that happen.

The only times I have had to use it is when I already had a full bin(I forgot to look) and I had to reverse it, dump the can and then it was fine. The Champion will also shred credit cards as well, The very center of the shredder is where the on switch is. That is where you put either credit cards, auto club cards or envelopes you want to shred.

I use a plastic grocery sack to line the container for easier dumping. It also comes in handy when I want to fire up my smoker grill (Redneck Technology) as I dump a bag of the confetti paper into the grill add my wood and I am ready to go!

Bottom Line

Don't take chances just tearing up that junk mail, use a shredder and keep your information safe from prying eyes. I got my shredder at Walmart for under $30 and I feel it is the best money I have spent in a long time. I know my information is safe now and it takes only a few seconds to shred a credit application.

Don't put yourself in harms way make sure you and your family are safe from thieves in the night. Get a paper shredder and you will feel better about what you throw in the trash can. Businesses protect themselves by shredding paper and you should to!

I have got to make a decision on a brand and model. We keep putting this off at my house and it will be too late one day...better safe than sorry is a good motto :) Thanks for your excellent review (as always)--Karen

I've had a paper shredder for years. Now I would never throw something in the trash without shredding it, before I never realized how dangerous that was.
