Okay but what's with the smell?

3

I'm always on the lookout for new products for my hair. Being a guy, the options seem limited, unless one wants to smell like flowers or a perfume. I generally ended up buying really expensive products that didn't really do anything special. I figured that using Axe hair products might be a good change-of-pace, especially given that it's much cheaper than other hair products (that's a relative statement - it's still pretty expensive for hair paste). Also, I like the Axe smell - when it's not overwhelming. Overall, this hair product is fine. It does the job and nothing more. It lasts through most of the day and is pretty resistant to modest moisture. I like the hold for my hair, and it performs better than most other products I've tried. The main problem that I have with the product is its smell, which really surprises me given Axe's market. It smells rather unpleasant and isn't appealing at all. I find that I have to use other products in my hair just to mask the smell. If you're insensitive to its smell, it is an okay product, though.

This product is very good it has the best hold. I also love the fact that it does not have a bad smell to it it smells very good as does all of the AXE products I have ever tried. I will continue to use this product until they come up with a better one in which would be pretty hard to do. I recommend this product to all of my friends and family.

Unilever Axe Messy Paste - my son's "Look Cool" solution

4

I actually purchase the Unilever Axe Messy Paste for my son's hair. We initially bought it to accent his Halloween costume as Harry Potter to get Harry's messy look hair after a haircut.  The hair and costume worked great!  We went with Axe simply because that is the brand of body spray and deoderant his father uses.  He's 8 so still needs some help applying the messy paste so I've had a lot of experience with it. The container is a really cool shape and design, and the lid easily twists off.  There are extremely helpful directions in the top of the lid as to applying the messy paste in the hair for the desired look.  It's a bluish tinted paste, so it is really important to not glob it into the hair.  Just a small amount rubbed between the two hands then shuffled through the hair using the fingers (like shaking out homeade noodles in reverse) works wonders and achieves the very stylish "messy" hairstyle.  We use it whenever he has picture days or important events, or whenever he's just wanting to look "cool".  The smell is extremely mild and pleasant and a quick rinsing of the hands is all that is needed when done.  While it is a little expensive, one container will last for a really long time!  Highly recommended!

Axe Messy Paste sure messes hair up nicely.

The Axe Messy Paste does a great job helping me achieve the look I am going for. I like that I do not have to use a lot of it either to achieve the desired look. Just a little dap in my palm and I am good to go. It is also not greasy or too sticky like some of the other hair styling pastes out there. I think this has a lot to do with Axe Messy Paste being made by a trusted brand like Unilever. The application of the Axe Messy Paste couldn't be any easier. If you happen to take a bit too much it is very easy to put the extra back in the container. The container itself is also very stylish. I tried this product after seeing the commercials for it on t.v. I can definitely attest that it does not make your hair stiff and rock solid like other hair products. I like that naturally messy look that this product helps me achieve. There are not really any negatives that I can think of that are associated with Axe Messy Paste.

Best hair stuff available

5

I have worn my hair spikey/messed up for about 6 years and this is the best stuff I've ever been able to find.  It smells good, has a thick but loose texture, and washes out of hair very easily.  The downside to it is that because it's water soluble, it doesn't work (at least for me) when your hair is anywhere near wet.  I usually have to blow dry before using just to make sure.  Another downside is that it doesn't work well in hot weather. 75+ or so and it doesn't work so well for me.  Other than that it's fantastic! I feel like I made it sound bad, but it honestly is the best stuff I've ever used.  That is probably the downside to most products that people use for hair spiking like me. The best thing is that it smells so good.  I've had numerous girls tell me that my hair smells really good.  I used to use Crew paste for about 5 of those 6 years and Axe is definitely the way to go.  Sometimes it's hard to find in stores or is sold out so I get on Amazon.

Best hair product I have found

5

Let me start off by saying I have terrible hair. I have always had trouble finding a style that suits my wiry, thick but somehow thin, sometimes curly hair. Being a guy, I usually don't think much of it, but since this is a review of a hair product I felt the need to preface this. Axe Whatever Messy Paste is a great product for me. I love that I can add it to my dry hair and still get my hair to style and hold with no problems. Many pomades and pastes just don't seem to make my hair manageable enough, and any gels just make it too shiny and helmet-y looking. With Axe paste I can actually cut my own hair(with help from the wife) and still have decent looking hair because the paste adds texture and basically creates its own style. This is a must when the winter months come around and having a shaved head just won't do. Another of my favorite things about this product is that it doesn't make my hair feel greasy, which is nice after a long day of wearing. Keep in mind that you don't need to use much product for it to go a long way!

Axe paste > gel

4

Instead of unloading a ton of gel in your hair and looking like Pauly D from jersey shore, the axe hair messy paste is definitely a great alternative. First off, it just looks cool, it's small and compact but holds a lot of paste (again unless you like to unload a lot to look like a Pauly D), it smells good, and it works phenomenally. Your hair doesn't "shine" in the sunlight, rather it has a natural look about it. It gives you that messy hairstyle without having you look like you tried hard to make it look like that. It stays all day and a lot of times withstands the rain. The only thing I don't like about it is that when you scoop too much on your hands and rub it on your hair, it can get too messy and too sticky so your hair feels goopy and sticky. It takes time to find the perfect amount but even then you can have too much or too little and your hair is either the same or goopy. Also it's hard to find untouched in pharmacies because everyone wants to touch the paste and see what it is and how it works so most of the time, it has a couple of scoops in it. It is a great hair product though, much better than gel but it could get messy.

Axe hair paste - a YES for the boys/men in my home!

5

This is the only product my man and my son will use on their hair - (unless I forget to buy some and they are forced to use their female housemates glittery hairspray) ha. It is the perfect way to style hair - it isn't too gel-ish and it isn't too glue-ish. It doens't leave any kind of flaking at all afterwards and really lets them get creative with their hair - and it HOLDS all day. If my son wants a faux-hawk one day or spikey the next - it does it all - and when he gets home from school it still looks just the same. It comes in a neat little container and smells GREAT - really really great actually. This prodect is regulary scribbled down by one of the "boys" on my shopping list and we will actually purchase it regardless of cost. It's one of the few splurge items as we call them! The boys will never go back to plain old hair gel again - and I'm not sure that I'd let them anyway :)! Give it a try!

AXE Messy Paste is phenomenal...keeps hair messy, not sticky.

5

In the past, I had always purchased hair styling products for my husband based on if I could get a deal by using a coupon or finding a good sale. Because of this, my poor husband has been stuck with everything from organic mousse to curl enhancing gel (he does not have curls). Since trying AXE...I have been banned from purchasing these sale items. I asked my husband a few questions about the AXE Whatever Messy-Look Paste...here is the verdict. Q: What did you think of the scent? A: 'I really like the scent, it smells fresh and clean.'Q: How did you feel about the paste? 'It's phenomenal. It's not sticky, doesn't make your hair crunchy, and it lasts all day without having to re-apply.'Q: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being best) how would you rate it? Paste = 10Q: Is there anything you didn't like about the product? A: 'No. Everything was as good or better than I expected it to be.' So as you can see, the overall opinion on the AXE Whatever Messy-Look Paste we tried was very positive. In my 3rd person opinion, (since I didn't actually use the product on myself) I really liked the scent, and the way they made his hair look and feel. The scent of the paste was a little strong when hubby used it on my toddler, but I'm pretty sure it isn't intended for use by toddlers.
