Avon Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard Plus Disappearing Color SPF 30 —

I have no mosquitoes in my diningroom.  But I'm going to sample the stuff my hubby swears by -- Avon Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard Plus.  Summer in the local mountains means a gazillion bugs, and TunefulPal knows his stuff about prevention.

First, I'll try Cool 'n Fabulous with disappearing color.  The four-ounce tube is kind of turquoise and... wait a minute... soooo... is the lotion.  I'm putting it on my arm... blue... blue... less blue...  The color's all gone!  The lotion is very light and spreadable, and... my arm looks... well... polished!

This stuff's neat, and it's got a 30 SPF sunscreen as well.  That's great for my pale Pal who's already had two serious bouts with skin cancer.  Vitamin E and Aloe are also among the ingredients.

Now, when Pal, who's on a mountain rescue team, has to wade in a creek or help with people who've fallen off a waterfall (easy to get up, sometimes fatal to get down), he's covered in still another way.  Avon labels its Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard Plus as "very water resistant."

Pal started out several years ago with Skin-So-Soft Gentle Breeze.  This Bug Guard's just a plain old joe.  No fancy color or disappearing tricks and more scent than Cool 'n FabulousBreeze has the same bug and sun protection and promise of water resistance.

Both Bug Guards are family friendly.  Avon strongly recommends that adults apply the lotion to children under ten and never to an infant less than six months old without consulting a doctor first.

DO NOT DISPOSE ANY UNUSED LOTION IN A DRAIN.

Active Ingredients:  Octinoxate 7.5%, Oxybenzone 6.0%, and Octisalate 5.0%.

Avon says it's not necessary to wash this Hyper-Acnegenic, Non-comedogenic (white tube only) and Hypoallergenic (both tubes) lotion off after coming inside.  At the same time, you should be aware that contact by the blue formula with silk, nylon and cotton may result in permanent stains.

Contact with plastics, costume jewelry, leather and synthetic fibers should also be avoided.  Finally... the Bug Guards may damage painted or varnished surfaces and wreak havoc with your manicure.  (Darn!  There go Pal's beautiful nails.)

I bought two tubes of Avon Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard Plus for $14 each then added two more for just 99-cents apiece on a special.  I'm going to go put them in Pal's dresser drawer now and know that this is a product he will use eagerly.

Great review, TunefulG~! I love Avon and hate bugs; it's a win-win product for me. I'll have to try it!

Avon has some great products and occasionally very good deals.

I've used this too. I think the only negative I found on it is that it didn't always dissolve well on my fair-skinned kid and there is some concern about applying bug guard more often than recommended because sun screen should be re-applied at more frequent intervals. Glad you found that this works well for you!
