I bought this Avon Pro-To-Go lipstick for 5.99 on special and I'm very glad that it did not cost me more because after 3 applications the item does not work . you cannot get the lipstick to roll up and the metal sleeve does not roll down so you cant apply the lipstick .

I have had no luck with Avon customer service . My invoice said it may not be necessary to return the product for refund and I do not want to pay out another 2.50 to send it back only to get a 5.99 refund.

I was told by there phone customer service that they are behind 6 months in answering emails because they only have 2 girls doing them. Well thats not not my problem . she was not helpful and told me to send the item back . I told her that the invoice says I may not need to send the item back to get a refund and she said in my case I would need to send it back to them at my expense.

buyer beware . its such a shame because I like most Avon products but with this kind of service I don't want to take anymore chances with them .So after getting taken 3 times I will not be shopping with them again .

In response to lweger's comment from Oct 19, 2008 at 9:17AM:

It may not be true for you but it was for me -I bought this from avon.com not ebay .I could have returned this item but the return shipping was more than the item costs which leaves me out the cost of the product and 5.99 shipping . the lipstick was 5.99 on sale the shipping was 5.00 thats 10.99 . lets say I send it back to them with there return mailer . Avon than deducts the cost of the return shipping off the money Im suposed to get back for the lipstick which is 5.00 so what I get 99 cents back and am out the rest of the money and have no product . that is not my idea of good business . if a product comes broken it should be replaced without charging the person who bought it yet more money .

I am sorry but thats not true because I had bought two and neither one has broke off and they work fine. I wounder if maybe you had a faulty one possible.
i have used one more than the other and usually keep it in my purse. unless you bought it from ebay or person, you could have also returned that item for a different item or money back. I would have gotten mymoney back.
also you may like the super shock mascarra. I just love it.
I have a site if you don't mind www.youravon.com/cgarvey

I just recieved my first order from avon and the hair products have exploded everywhere ruining all the things I bought, the products were in a large box loose with no bubble wrap or protection. Very poor, if it was ebay they would defo get negative feedback.....

Wow, I'm surprised by your bad experience. I used to sell Avon and always had helpful customer service reps when I needed them. If you decide to buy an Avon product again, you may want to find a representative in your area and buy from him or her. They are responsible for returns and will do it for you with no hassle.

I'm surprised by the terrible customer service; Avon has been around so long and should know better. When I saw the commercials about the lipstick I wondered whether it was a gimmick or if it was truly helpful to have the tube roll up and down with one hand. Thanks for the review, I sure won't spend any time and money on this one.

wow, that's a shame. i've only had to return something once and you are right, they didn't make me return the item. i was surprised. they credited me and let me keep the item, which i threw away anyway. your experience is very bad customer service! i'm shocked because they've been around forever! two girls to answer emails for that large of a corporation? insane! do you have an avon lady in your neighborhood? she could take care of this for you.
